She did say in the LM conference that if she was to do ARTPOP act 2 she would have to go back in the EDM headspace. What if this (+ Applause and Aura) was her way to slowly getting ready to dive back in? And I'm not saying she'll release exactly act 2, but maybe her next album will be a follow up to ARTPOP in spirit and sound? Ye like come on guys all this sudden attention she’ve been giving ARTPOP can’t just be a coincidence. She definitely knows by now how popular it is amongst the fan base, and the gp to tbf. I must have watched thousands of Gaga album reactions on YouTube and you’d be surprised just how many people enjoyed ARTPOP the most, especially straight people. Also with the likes of Charlie XCX etc, club EDM is having a big resurgence in the scene so it’s definitely a great time for her to make new content for it imo.
