I love how we collectively talk about failure if one song doesn’t show signs of smashing 

 

Anyone who was here during Joanne era knows what legit worry looks like. 
Perfect Illusion was her weakest lead single chart performance. 
Million reasons was on life support by her constant performances - it did very poorly before SB. 
John Wayne had the MV premiere after SB and it was crickets on Billboard 

The luke warm reception of TDD won’t stop her as it seems she found her fire again. I’m sure she’ll do something amazing again and have chart success

It has 3B streams already...  I haven't seen anyone talking about that song recently so it still pulling 3M streams daily was a surprise to me.

Nah, this fanbase sucks. Thats the main reason she doesnt have solo hits and relies on collabs, its not a "narrative", its the reality.

the song and MV was everything we wanted BUT even then, it failed a Top 10 in the US, look how good we are 

And like I said before, Abra's wordwide sucess was more due it being one of the biggest songs of the year on TikTok + Copacabana, this fanbase sure championed the song, but we are not the reason for the global smash.

If you ask me, a 4th single achieving Top 10 Global, Top 40 US, several high positions in Europe and 3M peak is pretty good, and it still has potential, and a boost with Halloween might happen, I mean, just look how Bloody Mary is boosted each year and this year TDD is tied to Wednesday, plus, we are still to get a negative radio update.

Seems like some people just want to hate on the song, because they have the (wrong) opinion the song is bad and other tracks would be better (fantasy, any other track would do much worse), not saying this about you but this is the feeling I get, gets tiring

As I said time and again at the end of the day it's another top 40 platinum track, boosting the album, with the addition of a cute 300-500M streams on Spotify in the long run. This is a FOURTH single in the year of our lord 2025 and we didn't even get one since 2011. Her career won't derail because this failed to go top 10

The song was a global smash and a bit of a slow burner so it bot peaking in top 10 in USA specifically doesnt make ot less of a smash

 

Also regardless of the reasons, u said she has to rely on collabs to make hits and cant get solo hits. I think Abra proved that wrong

 

And yeah I agree it was largely cuz of GP but thats the point i been making all this time. The fan base on our own cant make hits, we need GP support as well!
