But the Spotify ads like "have you learned the dead dance" felt too pushy too fast when most ppl didnt even know it yet. Im not sure that really worked

With current attention spans I honestly don’t even know what’s best anymore, the front loaded burst at the beginning or trying to re-capture the audience later on. I guess most businesses fear that once the song is out, if they wait too much it’ll be harder to get the GP to pay attention. What I don’t love is that Halloween is still a month away and by that time most people would have watched Wednesday so I can’t see it having a big surge. And even if it does, it’s going to be a surge from 1M streams so like…can we beat the previous peak?

Why are Halloween and spooky series/content released in early September. Closer to the actual day would make more sense to me

The funky sound is just not clicking with the younger GP nowadays, same reason Zombieboy and Killah didn’t get any response to promo.

Honestly this is what @DesertWolf said yesterday. A large part of this fanbase loves to complain about charts and career management but when it comes to show support, they just don't show up. And before someone brings up "we're not teenagers anymore, we have things to do”, I have a lot of responsibilities too, but playing the playlist I put together for The Dead Dance interferes with zero percent of my time.

I love these sounds but I understand what you’re saying. I watched a lot of reactions where people think the song goes one way and then the chorus hits and some go crazy some are like wtf. I still love this idea of dynamic composition, you also get that in SOAM and KFL and I’m honestly noticing a growing trend in this type of “plot twist” in songs, but I wonder what the song could’ve been if she stayed more on the verses type of sound. More dark, synth-pop.

I find it weird how 2025 hasn't served a single "megahit". Golden is shaping up to be the biggest one this year in Spotify numbers but it still far away from songs like DWAS, BOAF or Espresso. 

I guess the APK removal kicked out the most loyal gp friendly users

Yeah but it wasn't marketed as a "Halloween" vibe single, nor was it attached to a Halloween show. That idea was more of a fan thing. And Disease came out like 5 days before Halloween. I never had enough time to grow into that.

Same here. Some might think I don't take the time to support TDD but I do. I also have a playlist I put on loop, and I personally don't LOVE the song, but I have listened to it constantly since it came out. Sometimes I even get disheartened cause honestly, what difference will it make if I stop? But idk, I still wanna support our girl

It's wild to me that there are probably ~150k people who purposely play a song from 143 each day  That's 5x as many people as exist in my hometown.
