Well, with the direct zombie/livingdead references in Zombieboy and The Dead Dance, they are definitely top Kitsch on the album, actually. I would agree. The underlying kitsch influence on Disease, though, I live for! I love that song so much .... The chorus has such a weird dissonance in the melody in a way I love. Like somehow the whole thing feels a little bit off kilter, as is appropriate given the subject I might think. I feel the full version chanting, "we about to be up all night, waking up for zombies, so put you paws all over me you zombieboy *you zombie boy*" doesn't serve the chorus well. It grounds the song too much in the setting of staying up all night maybe at a slumber party? The suggestion of a group of preteens staying up late is just not the vibe for me. ARTPOP is very intentionally kitsch all the way through and it works favorably.
