I wish performers would stop using them now that they keep malfunctioning. And it's the second malfunction she's had with flying props this tour: They're starting to feel like PR stunts honestly. And if they're not, I really hope she learns her lesson and just tweaks the show to exclude them.

Honestly I don't think its a PR stunt - and I can't think of a single tour that hasn't had some form of tech failure at least 1 show. Lifts fail all the time. Screens get damaged. People slip. Props break. If anything, its likely a sign of cost cutting by production. Probably rushing set up time frames, not being as efficient with maintenance checks etc.

faysalaaa 4,579
There is no way she would naturally continue performing and putting her mic out like that while the thing is midway to falling! Its like she knew this was gonna happen? And these flying horses and butterflies look so ugly and not necessary, if you are gonna risk it, atleast make it worth it like P!nk.

I could imagine LiveNation as the presumed organizer got really rigid with her stage build and safety following the first incident simply because it creates liability/insurability issues. If Katy were to get hurt from it, they could be forced to cancel the tour and insurance would have to pay out. Or it could harm fans, which opens them up to a lawsuit. If the faults are stemming from time contrainsts rushing set building etc, then that's not really fixable mid tour without cancelling shows. That's a logistics thing that will have been planned at the time they were arranging the dates.

Honestly, I'd be willing to bet P!nk has less accidents (besides pulled muscles etc) precisely because she doesn't rely heavily on these massive props and actually focuses on the performance itself. She primarily uses actual circus performance set ups (and has done loads of gymnastics & circus training over the years) and her props for performances like Sober on the Funhouse tour/Truth About Love Tour or Try on her Summer Carnival tour in 2024 are all pretty standard cirque du solei style props. She even gets actual trained crews and dancers in for these specific things (like the Trustfall dancers being a specific troupe that focuses on that trampolining). I'd be willing to be Katy/Beyonce etc, given the props they're using have just used their usual touring procedures and teams.

It's unlikely anyone would do this type of pr stunt because it might discourage people from coming to the show. she has been on tour for several months now, played on 3 continents in many different venues and there is a lot of flying during her show and nothing happened until recently "You b*tch!" ~ Rat Boy

HayThurJack 333
Hate me, but I genuinely feel sorry for her at this point. The amount of things that have gone wrong in her life, in such quick succession, wouldn’t surprise me if she ended up taking her own life.
