Well, if it ends up being the same show we are allowed to be disappointed, since she gaslighted us in thinking it will be something else than the Mayhem on the Beach, Viva la Mayhem etc concerts. And then her comment about choosing arenas specifically for the show to focus on the details will then also be a lie, since she literally did stadiums and festivals with the show.

And in that case, no matter how good the Gagacabana show was, she did gaslight us

The tour has stadium dates in Australia so you should know by now that the show is also made for stadiums.

You can be dissatisfied but she never said this would be an completely different show. It’s really not that serious and she doesn’t really owe anyone a new show.

@TimotheeChalamet is absolutely correct and @monketsharona

IF the ball is similar to Coachella and the fandom ends up meltdowning and whining... then we truly are a pathetic, very entitled bunch, no different to her previous management tbh.

:vegas:

I'm sure the show won't be 100% the same, that's what she said at the final show in Singapore

But we kinda knew she would have re-used those stuff, the creator of sculptures from the show basically confirmed that his stuff would return.

There were no signs it would be the same. The whole promo was different. Different names: Mayhem on the beach vs Mayhem Ball. Specifically saying the Mayhem Ball will be arenas on purpose to “control the details in a way you simply can’t in a stadium”. Interview with Parris where she implied it was something different

It is entirely true that arenas are better for controlling details in ways you can't in a stadium. But that can mean a number of things - it can refer to the lighting, the video screens, the scale of the show. And it can also mean that things can be adapted to perform better in an arena than a tour.

As for Parris - 1)she's not Gaga, 2) no one is saying the show won't have changes, we're saying the show won't be entirely new. And nothing in her posts implied root and branch change or an entirely new concept.

Mayhem on the Beach predates the planning for the tour. That's the reason why the branding is different.

And there were plenty of signs it would be the same show with adaptations.

The most obvious one being the timeframe. A lot of repeatedly pointed out that given the late scheduling of the tour & the short time window between Singapore and Vegas that they wouldn't have time to create a brand new concept from scratch.

And then there's Gaga herself. Who at the end of the last Singapore show explicitly told everyone that the Mayhem Ball would be the same show just with some arena based alterations. Doesn't get much more obvious than that.

I am not expecting a completely new show though. I am just saying, if it is a one on one copy of the previous shows, I would be a bit disappointed. I hope she manages to finetune the setlist, use more setpieces, have some good interludes that are not just the band playing for 10 minutes, and maybe some added songs. And indeed add things that are not possible in stadiums like insane lights.

And saying Gaga cant make a new show in 2 months is insane. She could already be planning it before Singapore happened, and have 2 full months of rehearsals.

But she couldn't have 2 full months of rehearsals.

First you have to factor in travel time from Singapore to the US - which takes at least a day out of the equation.

Then we have to factor in her netflix tudum appearance and any rehearsals and prepping for that.

Then there's the apparent filming in Mexico for something which takes time out.

And you already have lost at least a week's worth of time out of the 7ish weeks between the last Singapore show and the first show in Vegas.

Factor in any time off she took for herself because of her fibro and you lose even more time. And we're still assuming that she's not given anyone in her team time off in the gap between shows.

There's no reasonable time frame possible to suggest an entirely new concept had been created, tested and rehearsed. She's not Shakira, she ain't going to risk production issues cancelling tour dates.

The timing was more than enough. If you know more about the entertainment business you know that 2 months is actually excessive for a tour rehearsal. She pulled the 2017 Coachella in 3 weeks, and only rehearsed once for The Art of Personal Chaos (full dress rehearsal) according to Paris. They quite literally began production and rehearsals after SNL, which was only a month apart and look the amazing show we got.

A lot of the work that goes into a tour is done by other people. Gaga most likely just shows up to rehearsals about 1-2 months tops before to lock the details down. But everything else, set, lights, dancers, outfits are done in parallel and Gaga doesnt need to get involved in every meeting. We even know by multiple dancers that they use stand ins to rehearse the show. She had enough time after singapore to change the entire show if she wanted to. However, given how well received the show was, the most logical thing was to just revamp it, and I think we all should be grateful that we will get to see an interation of Coachella again in a much more better environment.

Point is, if she wanted to, she would have. At the same time, anyone who expected a brand new 100000% different show was lying to themselves. The signs all pointed to some sort of halfway between TAOPC and new elements.

My assumption is that the show is just modified for arenas. So technically it’s not the exact same show. Obvious with the decreased amount of dancers.

But I do wonder what the shows in Australia and Japan will be like since they are in stadiums. Are those shows going to be revised versions of the arena shows which may be revised versions of the initial stadium shows? :enigma:

Please control how you express your disappointments though because it's almost as if you're giving yourselves license to trash her on social media.

When a lot of people have been saying to temper expectations.

There will be changes, I’m pretty sure about that. On the last show, she literally said: ‘Since we’re never gonna do this show like this again…’

Didn't she instead say they won't do the same show again?

And since Gaga has been pretty mindful as of late, even making a statement about not producing too much stuff, it's really not surprising she wouldn't push to revamp the entire thing.

100% agreed. She is the bar and a true professional.

If it bothers you that much that it’s gonna be almost the same show as Coachella etc - don’t go then. There are more than enough people willing to buy your ticket.
