President Donald Trump faces a fast-metastasizing MAGA rebellion amid fallout over his administration’s handling of the files from the criminal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

And some of his closest allies are cautioning the situation for the president will get worse before it gets better — even as it threatens to derail his mega bill victory lap and continues to divide parts of his administration and, more broadly, his supporters.

Trump has tried twice in as many days to tamp down his base’s anger, posting to Truth Social Saturday that he didn’t “like what’s happening” among his own supporters. He also threw his support behind Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has taken the brunt of much of the right’s ire over the Epstein files. Several news organizations have also reported that Bondi clashed with Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino over the files.

The split over Epstein represents one of the biggest rifts within Trump’s supporters since the president took office for his second term. On one side are MAGA supporters who push claims that Epstein was murdered in his jail cell and that the disgraced financier had kept a list of high-profile clients. But Trump’s DOJ and FBI have concluded that there’s no evidence for either.

Meanwhile they have been totally silent on Trumps, Andrew Tates, Elon Musks, etc. own abuse. Epstein is the only thing they care about. I don't have any support for them given how selective they are being.

Plus, a lot of them openly condone grape. "You're body, my choice", "My body, his choice", how they responded to Lady Gagas abortion announcement in 2021, Riley Gaines throwing Simone Biles abuse in her face, people asking to take photos of trans people in bathrooms, etc.

I have ZERO sympathy for MAGA.

It'll amount to nothing because so much of his base—whether they consciously know it or not—supports all the vile things Epstein stood for. @27monster27 put it perfectly. They didn't care about Trump's own allegations, they didn't care about the Tate brothers, about Elon, or about anyone else. They also openly embrace misogynistic and sexist rhetoric. They only care about Epstein because of the optics, not because they have good morals; their morals are in the shitter.

No one will care in a month or two anyways, and his base staying with him over these past 10 years and continuing to grow, I don't think this will derail him LOL.

Shhhhhhh. Let them open the door, we can push them through after. But let them do some of the math for themselves.

I don't feel like his base is necessarily growing, I think they're just not afraid to be loud now. If anything I feel he's peeled them away slowly since he's assumed office.

It's great watching them squirm, and if the mid-terms were tomorrow, and they were free and fair, this would do serious damage to the GOP, but they're not tomorrow, they're 15 months away. In the meantime they may come up with some spin to get out from under this, plus a whole lot of other (as yet unknown) things are going to happen as well and this may just fade. And the elections are unlikely to be free and fair.

I feel like this has hit the news cycle to early for it to have a major effect on the midterms itself. 

But if the Trump team can't effectively kill the discussion then it will really hurt them in the upcoming midterms because it's already tearing the MAGA coalition apart. The MAGA griftersphere is seriously fracturing over this and thats on the back of the strikes in Iran causing conflict lines in the coalition as well.

At the moment, I think the Dems stand a good chance of taking a slim House majority in the midterms. Everything at the moment is pointing to the Reps going into the 2026 cycle fractured and infighting which is always a recipe for House majority loss. 
Will help the Senate battleground seats as well - which are predominantly Democrat defenses atm.
