DWAS passes Shallow

DWAS has now logged 46 weeks on the Hot 100 and breaks out of a tie with Shallow, which stayed on the chart for 45 weeks. (This metric is not about which songs stayed in the top ten the longest, it’s about how long they stayed in the Hot 100 overall.).

It looks like DWAS will likely also pass her longest charting hit Just Dance also. JD stayed on the chart for 49 weeks. DWAS is not only still on the chart at 45 weeks, it’s still in the top 10, so it def seems very likely that it will remain within the top 100 for at least 4 more weeks and probably for even longer.

Remembering how someone told me a couple years ago how Shallow was her last big song and she's too irrelevant now to have another #1 hit lol.

Pretty sure I was one of those skeptical ppl ngl, glad to be proven wrong tho :ladyhaha:

Although I think was what I said was that it was unlikely shed have another #1 solo hit. I did not think more major hits were impossible with the right collabs and DWAS is definitely a major name collab

That said, even Abracadabra is probably a bigger global hit than I imagined shed likely get solo going forward back in 2018/2019 so again, glad to be wrong. I under estimated her longevity and ability to career resurge :enigma:

I really thought top 20 moderate hits type of thing is the most shed achieve going forward. Although Abra did not go top 10 in Hot 100, Globally it was a smash and it had a lot of longevity  even in hot 100 so it was as big of a hit as many low top 10s in hot 100 so in that context I will still count it as a solo hit (even in USA)

I love that!  I saw it by myself in a theatre the first time too and had a similar experience. So good.

After the ARTPOP and Joanne eras it truly wasn't crazy to think she'd never have another hit tbh. + if Bruno Mars wasn't on the song it wouldn't be so successful let's be real here
