my friend said the same thing :vegas:

Your friend is sensible :ally:

I don't think there's necessarily a problem with wanting nice things, my priorities always lie in experiences though :bradley:

My friend thought $1k for a ring was a LOT and I was like mama I want at least $10k :vegas: a million dollar ring.. I'd be scared to wear it in public without security or even have anyone know the real worth lmao

I totally would be the same. But if Michael is a billionaire (and Gaga is prob not that far behind herself) it’s all relative to them. I’m sure they still think a million dollar rock is a lot, but for billionaires to impress each other they prob feel like they have to really reach for that level. A normal prices ring would just feel like a ring drop in the bucket. But I think the custom blade of grass in resin is so thoughtful so she really got a thoughtful gift and also pure bling.

I already loved Blade of Grass but this makes me love it more!

However, I do not think this will make BoG haters like it more.

I agree. My husband doesn’t like BOG and I told him this story and he thought it was cool but he still doesn’t like the song.

I love he did that, because it shows he was not only listening to her but remembered what she said an took action to make a romantic proposal

My bar may be kinda low for men these days but it's really important they at least listen to you and also remember things you said :billie:

A million dollar engagement ring.

I just. Idk.

Get your rock sis but I'd never be able to look myself in the mirror wearing something that's worth four or five houses.

Idk how rich people sleep at night.

I totally agree. Except in my country that's literally 1-2 small family homes :laughga:  our housing market is so f.ucked

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I think that’s an essential bar tho!!  Because once the initial attraction wears off and you want to build a real relationship, you def want someonenwhk listens to you and takes in what you say, not just waits to speak.

I hear you! In Toronto a semi-detached house is about CAD$1.2 million and a detached house is about CAD$1.5 million.

Most houses in my neck of the woods run from $200k to $300k before you start getting to ridiculously large homes and then mansions.

Small town, red state blues :traumatica:

So Gaga is quite literally wearing about 5 houses on her finger while 30,000 people in my state are homeless and a further 2 million are in poverty :messga:

Not that I expect her to fix all that, it just gives some sobering perspective :laughga:

I'm sorry I'm just shocked at how incredibly cheap houses are there oh my god. My tiny apartment was $370,000NZD/$222,500USD/$304,200CAD and that was considered a steal in my town. If I could own a whole detached house for what my apartment is worth I'd be so ****ing happy

It sounds cheap but wages here are so bad that a solid ~40% of people in my state are listed as "struggles to afford basic needs" :traumatica:

And a $200k house comes with RIDICULOUS homeowner's insurance payments (hurricanes) and the second most expensive utilities in the country, just behind Hawaii (which is in the middle of the largest ocean on the planet :rip:)

Then all the usual American only problems like "breaking a bone could put you in debt forever", "a $3 drug will set you back at least $800", "the price tag on these groceries are 80% higher than they need to be", "federal minimum wage hasn't budged in 30 years", etc :laughga:

It's cheap to buy a physical house but prohibitively expensive to live :messga:

I supposed it's all relative! We have free universal healthcare including medications and also gun control so I guess that's more important than cheap housing :huntyga:
