Pixar is reportedly developing a sequel to its beloved 2007 animated family feature “Ratatouille”.

Jeff Sneider broke the news earlier this week on The Hot Mic, saying the project is now in early development at the studio. No further details were available.

The report follows in the wake of Pixar’s newest original feature “Elio” debuting to the worst opening weekend for a Pixar film to date, raising obvious concerns about the future of the company if it’s not able to successfully launch new IP.

also suggests Disney is likely to double down on sequels in the near future, which makes this not a surprise – the title joining “Toy Story 5,” “Incredibles 3” and “Coco 2” all currently in the works.

The title became a critical and commercial success with a gross of $623.7 million worldwide and won the Best Animated Feature Oscar.

She's too busy scamming painters out of their work to promote MAYHEM

I’m surprised it hasn’t happened already but they’re really going to milk the old Pixar movies with as many sequels as they can now. Watch another Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc and Inside Out in the next years.

They better not mess up with Wall E. :cyanlights:

I've actually always wanted a sequel.

Coco, Moana, Zootopia, and especially Toy Story's sequels don't feel the most necessary but I'll take anything as long as it's good (HATED Moana 2 it felt so damn messy).

I hate Disney at this point.

They are like the biggest enemy of the art of cinema. They pretty much killed original Hollywood filmmaking with unleashing the monstrosity that was Marvel Cinematic Universe and made the entire mainstream American filmmaking into the biggest pile of garbage ever. Like we have Final Destination 5, 28 shits later 3, Mission Impossible 10 kinda disneyified bullshit all at the same time now...

Now they wanna go back and ruin actually good stuff they produced in their heyday like Ratatouille lmao...

Only thing Disney has done well in the last 10 years is indirectly bringing a renaissance to independent filmmaking companies like A24, MUBI, Neon, Elevation Pictures by killing the traditional mainstream lmao...
