Songs like “I’m His, He’s Mine” had potential (like the sample, the Doechii feat), but frustratingly missed it. 

I feel like I SHOULD have liked Gorgeous, but it’s kind of bland. 

Katy had so much potential to make a comeback (ex. people craving her kind of fun recession pop). 

143 sounds like an album full of demo snippets that had potential, that were extended with Ai.

Believe me, I've re-listened to this album a few times to try to see if it's salvageable and I'm just being too harsh on it because I'm biased but it really is that bland and boring. Admittedly, Crush grew on me but only as a mid summer jam, not as a seriously good song. But I went off other songs when I realised they weren't as good looking back so it evened itself out. I'm His He's Mine, Crush and Wonder are the only ones worth paying attention to and they're only average at best. Let's not even talk about the re-release mess. It was a major diss for critics to say it sounded like it was the product of AI but that assessment was extremely accurate, it's totally lifeless. The way she tried to say it was a project made out of love for her partner and daughter really made it worse. To know that she and Orlando were clearly in the dying stages of their relationship when it got made, it now makes total sense. Her cringey comments about him washing the dishes in exchange for sex and all her cringey statements about love after her space flight and throughout the whole album cycle were clearly her attempts at trying to pretend everything was fine. The old classic: "The people who talk about something the most are usually the ones not doing it."

This genuinely shocked me! You've never even heard her magnum opus, Teenage Dream? I'd suggest you listen to that one, you're missing out. It's probably the best summer-themed album ever made. I definitely don't think her albums are great but she has a lot of good songs dotted about, her music is ideal if you just want some fun escapism.

NGL I nearly fell asleep when listening to this album. Her comeback should have been a completely new sound that shows that she can evolve. And she definitely should not have worked with Dr Puke. 
The artwork was actually quite cool, which is a shame since it was wasted on such boring music. 
I’ve liked Katy’s music until now. This is her only album that I wouldn’t listen to again.

I never have! I've never been into pure pop and the few pop artists I like are those who have different influences/styles and are pushing the genre into another direction.

Actually I find that album nice…the hate train is understandable due Dr.Luke involvement but sonically it’s nice bubble pop record with some bops…sue me but that’s fact

Have you at least heard her singles? They were pretty much inescapable from 2010-2014. I just associate Teenage Dream songs with summer, they just make me instantly happy when I hear them at this time of year. It definitely figures based on what you said that you don't like HBDUWM then?  I love that song!

Yes, I know them and my best friend then was a fan so I also heard a lot of the music through him. It's fun but I wouldn't willingly listen to these songs 

And yes, definitely the same about HBDUWM! There are very few Gaga songs I dislike more than this one!

I listened to it on release and the only album track I remember is Artificial cause it had me moving a little bit. When I came back to it for a 2nd listen I had to skip 

I'm his he's mine is pretty good, nothing id listen to tho and I actually think woman's world is... ALRIGHT. It's alright. As someone else said it's like a commercial jingle. I liked it on first listen but it's still an embarrassment of a song

It's dreadful. I listened to it once and couldn't believe how bad it was.

 

Now, I don't like Katy, but even Witness had good songs. Even smile had one good song... This one? Zero.
