The Guardian on Wednesday claimed that the U.S. military has reservations regarding the success of using a bunker buster bomb, a non-nuclear weapon, to eliminate Iran’s Fordo nuclear facility, buried deep in a mountain. Two defense officials were reportedly briefed that only a tactical nuclear weapon could reach the facility, but The Guardian noted that Trump is not considering using a tactical nuke. On Thursday, Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Jaqui Heinrich reported that the White House told her otherwise. “I was just told by a top official here that none of that report is true, that none of the options are off the table, and the U.S. military is very confident that bunker busters could get the job done at Fordo,” Heinrich said. The world is a sh*t show at the moment but half the time I see a headline like this I'm logical and think "hmmmm that sounds too horrible to be true", and after 2 min of research it normally is too horrible to actually be true. However, if Iran keeps making threats to Trump and attacking Israel...there may be increased pressure to get involved in an all out war which could invoke WW3...is WW3 nuclear? You got a point, I myself like to believe that the use of nuclear weapons or a WWIII are too horrible and dystopian to become a real thing but let's not act like it's totally impossible either. It’s been reported that the Trump admin think that bunker buster bombs may not be good enough to destroy Iran’s Fordo facility and that a tactical nuclear weapon might be the only way to destroy it. Like I said to GregJA, the White House said a tactical nuke may be needed to destroy the Iranian nuclear facility which falls in line with my thread title and that no options are off the table… which includes nukes. I didn’t say they WILL do it, I said they are considering doing it which is true. Perhaps if you did more than 2 minutes of research you would’ve seen that.
