Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Manchild’ debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” soars onto the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 1. The song is her second leader, and first to debut on top. Her “Please Please Please” spent a week atop the ranking in June 2024, rising from the runner-up spot in its second week on the chart. “Manchild,” is  Carpenter’s fourth Hot 100 top 10.

The track debuts at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, where it’s Carpenter’s third leader, following “Taste” (three weeks on top) and “Please Please Please” (two). It opens at No. 3 on Digital Song Sales with 6,000 downloads sold; it also sold 14,000 copies on 7-inch vinyl, on which it was released with the exclusive instrumental B-side, “Inside of Your Head When You’ve Just Won an Argument with a Man.” (“Manchild” is the top-selling song of the week overall.)

People demanded the Abracadabra physicals from Interscope but they never came.

This is an issue with more campy dance music in general. Abracadabra couldn't get the top 10, Sports Car couldn't get it with Tate McCraes meteoric rise, and not a single one of brats singles entered the top 10 despite the massive cultural phenomenom behind the album last year.

I saw the music video and thought the Song was much Better than my First impression. It might not be a bad sophomore single. 

Its really unfair how Abra had such a low debut

sorry yall, while i also had hoped and prayed for abra to go number #1, and i still dont understand why it didnt (I mean look at bad romance which peaked at number 2, and never understood how BTW (single) was no. 1 for weeks (when it was so niche as compared to BR), Manchild is a hit.

Congratulations to Sabrina! It must be nice having a dedicated and supportive fanbase that gets you #1s. Only 14k physical sales and 6k digital sales (& millions of streams).
