Honestly the "I've never seen the world as united as it is with Potter" was actually a decent answer. The question/answer get a little skewed, because the interviewer seems to be asking the impact her views had on him and he basically said he doesn't keep up with her views like that. Which is just tone deaf and he seems to admit his privilege.

He didn't say he agrees with her he simply said he doesn't follow what shes spouting. Not all of us are chronically on the internet and twitter and read every thing she posts.

Thats how I personally feel about the whole Palestine/Israel thing. I don't follow it enough at all to know what side is doing what so I avoid giving my opinion or talking about it. 

And I do agree with him that the whole Potterverse DID bring people together and still has a massive fanbase. He's praising the art and world she created. Not the woman herself. I think she's vile woman but I still enjoy Harry Potter, always have and always will. Ive had the books, movies, merch and games forever while I was growing up and Im not just gonna toss it all out and pretend like that world doesn't bring me joy.

Yes I tend to agree. All he was asked was if the online controversy around her impacts his work and he said it didn't. He didn't comment about whether the controversy was right or wrong.
