Miley Cyrus hopes her film will be a replacement for touring Something Beautiful

Miley Cyrus revealed that Harrison Ford made a suggestion about her film, which she ended up following.

“I show him my idea of Somewhere Beautiful, which is performing in all the forests and at the pyramids and all these things. He goes, ‘You really want to go and set up in a forest and do what?’ He’s like, ‘You going to bring a crew? You got to…’ He’s like, ‘Looks expensive,'” Cyrus told Lowe of the conversation.

The pop star shared that the conversation led her to make changes to the music film, which she hopes will be a replacement for touring Something Beautiful.

“I came back to the trailer, I was like, ‘Guys, we’re not performing in the forest anymore. Harrison Ford made a lot of sense,'” Cyrus said. “That’s why I want to create this film, the film is my way of touring.”

She added: “That’s why I’m putting it into theaters, because it’s something you can watch night after night after night and you get to discover and you get to feel like you’re a part of a performance but I don’t have to tax myself in that way.”

Miley Cyrus explained that she was laying off touring due to the strain it puts on her body and vocal cords, especially after being diagnosed with Reinke’s Edema, a condition caused by vocal cord overuse. She added that she would not undergo surgery, as “the chance of waking up from a surgery and not sounding like myself is a probability.” 

The Something Beautiful film will hit theaters on June 12 in the US and June 27 internationally. source

She's more than rich enough to never need to tour or release music again and live comfortably. 

Id have killed for a Plastic Hearts tour, but she looking after her health and I respect that.

Sure she is, but will her label invest in future albums if they aren't able to recoup the money through touring?

I mean she hasn’t toured in a decade and the label still invest in her albums. Until this album I'd have assumed they didn't spend much on her to begin with.

We really are lucky Gaga is still doing things the classic way so far. We are spoiled. All of her albums have had their respective tour.

Her last actual solo concert world tour was for Bangerz.

She did an 8 show mini US only tour for the Dead Petz album in 2015. 

And she's done festival shows occasionally since - including a few that her PR team called a tour but it was just a string of summer festivals she was on the line up for.
