It’s even crazier because they do NOT need 7 minutes for all that. Have the sand box prepped and ready before the show even starts, then just roll it up on stage. 3-4 mins tops for Gaga to change wig and outfit

Just eliminate the awful sandbox. It could've been an e̶m̶a̶i̶l̶ short film. Literally just glimpses of Gaga in the sand like we had for literally 2 entire songs. Everyone gets the idea, she's resurrecting. The sandbox is one of the most baffling (unproblematic) choices in her career imo. If she needed a breather, that's another understandable issue that can be worked around. Thematically however the sandbox is such a slog

I support the live music for sure, but some Gaga songs are so electro-computer-whatever heavy that it feels weird when you hear a drum substitute

I disagree  

I always think the obvious studio bits stick out like a sore thumb

When Bad Romance is structured with a sick electric guitar in place of some of the synths, the bass synth is replaced by a plucky bass guitar, the string synths are played live, god it's incredible

Couldn’t disagree more. IMO, many (if not most) of her live arrangements CLEAR the studio versions
