Apart of me feels they both knew he was passing soon. I want to save my memories of the BTWB, the show that changed my mental state I want to save my feelings I got when I first heard "Born This Way" I want to save the feelings I got when I saw Gaga scream in Scheisse when it was proven, undoubtedly, that she truly loves us and is a true artist. Michael 533 Posted March 22, 2013 Share Posted March 22, 2013 I got to see Gaga for a second time (first time at The Monster Ball) at Radio 1's Big Weekend in May 2011. Of course that was my Born This Way era highlight, and I feel so lucky to have been there to witness that incredible show and a show that she only did one of. I didn't manage to go to The Born This Way Ball unfortunately, but Big Weekend was so incredible. I'll never forget the atmosphere all day long and all throughout that week. I live like 30 minutes from Carlisle, in a really small town so the fact that Lady Gaga was coming to the area was all anybody talked about for the entire week ahead of the show. It was a festival with lots of other acts, but people only really talked about it as if it was Lady Gaga's concert. On the actual day, I stood in the crowd for 14 hours in order to get to the front of the stage, which I managed. It was so worth it, and plus it was the first time Gaga ever played The Edge of Glory live so I'm so happy I was there to see it happen. Such a magical day that I will never forget. The opening performance (as pictured, and oh man was that a monster of a performance), the closing performance (dem high E's), the nominations for BTW (album of the year!), all a wonderful evening. And though BTW didn't get any Grammys that awards show, it's good enough sentiment to look back at this night (and along with it, all of BTW) to know that Gaga seriously killed it, one-two punch in the face. So BTW didn't win album of the year (imo she deserved it as much as Adele and The Foo Fighters did), but what it was as an overall entity really transcended that. Its message, its music, and the life it lives on even post-BTWB, all an amalgam of what truly made BTW not just an amazing album, but an amazing message. 3 points in and ready for more Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even though the foundation will live on regardless of the era of GaGa's music we are experiencing, the genesis of the project in the BTW era was very special.
