I mean the music direction was everything... the best performance of HMH by far, and I saw her live at TCB. Better than the studio recording. The choir in this was everything

okay, but this is too true i fear. out of all the awards, Emmys are the only ones that never got that into Gaga. the fact that TIHTY WON, but Gaga wasn't credited makes me mad to this day. The way she had guest spots on SNL, AHS, Tony Bennett specials, etc. that got attention elsewhere, yet the Emmys were like nope is insane.

It only lists FOX underneath - the other nominees have other studios and stuff in brackets, so I’m not sure this award would even go to her if it won. (do we know she was the musical director for this performance?)

It’s fine, especially considering the noise Linda Perry made over Gaga’s contribution to the song. She’s clearly going to be contending for Emmys many more times in her career, so it would’ve been a shame for her to have her win surrounded by controversy when the good will she built during that period is what ultimately enabled her to grab an Oscar for Shallow and everything else since then.

So this is what I found on the Sports Emmy wiki:

"When a show wins a Sports Emmy, each member of the crew that worked on the production is eligible to purchase an Emmy statue, provided that their job title corresponds to the category that the show won the award in"

We'll find out after May 20th, but I think so... Daddy Monster is NOT gonna let this opportunity pass for his wifey

I sometimes feel like the replies here are AI or something - like what in the world is “random” is about this? It’s an award for musical direction, and a very basic and quick research shows this is very much in line with recent nominations in the category, including a win in 2023 for “An American Chorus” at the 2022 SB and nomination last year for “My Way” at the 2023 SB.

It’s not some fan-voted award; it’s a technical award that has nothing to do with the success of whatever song was performed on the Billboard Charts.

Eh I don’t know. These awards are all very specific with regards to their qualifications, which is why she doesn’t have an Emmy for either TMB MSG show or TIHTY, which both won. Unless she was officially credited as a musical director (and perhaps even as the lead one), I don’t think this nomination or award would go to her. 

And again, that’s fine. If she didn’t serve in that role, there’s no way she’d want her first Emmy to be for it when she’s worked so hard to be on a trajectory to one day earn one “for real” (but all of this is moot if she was indeed credited obviously).
