lol no, I didn’t, and I think the met gala should also be discontinued because it’s an obscene display of wealth. I never enjoyed when Gaga would go either, you can tell she wasn’t in it fully and those people aren’t good people to keep company with in general. any other misguided hypocrisy claims you’d like to toss out?

that's the point, she was there fully, she was the highlight of the event numerous time and spent a big amount of time to prepare her show there.

It's her job first, she can decline or accept, it's her business, but it doesn't change who she is.

It's like if you're working as a customer service representative but you only give customer service to whoever thinks the same as you politically.

Everyone here would say yes to $15+ million to do their job, despite what they believe about Bezos, they would say yes even for a $10k.

This whole thing is hypothetical, but ok, Gaga being asked to perform at the Bezos wedding is something that certainly could happen, so it's a debate worth having.

My tuppence worth, I would be very disappointed if she performed at that event, becauae Bezos has thrown his lot in with Trump. I'm not asking Gaga to get on her soapbox and literally risk her life or her families' lives by denouncing Trump on a daily basis, but if she was asked to perform at that wedding I would hope she would just quietly say no.

This gala always was a fundraiser that actually does gross a lot of money tho... So yes it's, by definition, shallow since fancy fashion is non-essential but I don't see how these folks being shallow annually is remotely as damaging as one dude who by himself is daily mistreating thousands of employees, doing gigantic damages to the environment and sponsored Trump among many other things?

Also it could be an unfounded rumor but Gaga doing this gig is only "part of her job" if she decides to. Let's wish she doesn't since she doesn't have to.
