Never seen it talked about for some reason. Even when Kim wore that Marilyn Monroe dress, the criticism she received was more about how she destroy an archive than she is being off theme.

This is a very biased view. You may hate the kardashians but let's not be delusional. Kims looks specifically have been a highlight at the MET majority of the time. 2018, 2019 2021 and even this were some of the best on their respective nights.

Then make sure your criticism is actually accurate. The kardashians (kim specifically) are rarely off theme.

That's because it overshadowed her being off theme. The theme was 19th century fashion and she destroyed an iconic garment from mid-20th century. The fact that it simply wasn't on theme was completely irrelevant.
