Maroon 5 makes me sad now. I used to be a HUGE fan but there’s a disconnect in Adam’s voice since around 2017 or so. They just feel so disconnected from their music. They’re genuinely really talented guys who can do so much more than the soulless music they make. It’s hard to imagine they actually care in the slightest about anything they’ve put out in years aside from Memories

Same. Their first 3 albums were so good and even Moves Like Jagger was a nice experiment that led into Overexposed as the poppy album but damn every release after that has gotten more and more basic.

I mean I was even a fan of V, yeah it was radio pop but there were some really good pop songs on it. I completely stopped defending them when What Lovers Do came out. “Say say say hey hey now baby… oh my my don’t play now baby… ooo ooo ooo ooo ooo, been wishing for you,” it’s clear there was zero effort in actually writing a good quality song, it was absolutely just trying to crank out a radio hit. That tainted everything I’ve heard them make since.

Hands All Over also had it’s moments though. Misery, Give A Little More, Never Gonna Leave This Bed, How, Title track, Out of Goodbyes. 

I don’t count Moves Like Jagger as part of this one, they should’ve placed it on Overexposed.
