What about a ‘VIY’ MV premiere in Rio?

I think MAYHEM IN RIO would be the perfect place and opportunity to premiere the music video for Vanish Into You.

She loves Brazil, Brazil loves her.

1.5 MILLION people are expected to attend the show, and that’s excluding the livestream.

Vanish Into You fits perfectly for her fans, just like she’s introduced the song at Coachella.

And the show is on a Saturday, which isn’t too far from Friday for the tracking week. (Abracadabra was released on a Sunday)

I mean, the release date doesn’t matter at all for a post-album single. A MV might push it into the bottom of the Hot 100, but it’s more likely to not. At the same time, I’m not sure what “debuting a MV” at a concert would actually entail?

It’s not the Grammys, where they were able to purchase commercial time… there’s no benefit to releasing it on a random Saturday while she’s performing and her core fanbase are watching the stream as opposed to 24 hours earlier, when those same fans can actually go view it immediately amidst any hype for the next day’s show.

I really don’t think we’re going to get anymore official singles, and I think if an MV were going to coincide with an event, it would’ve been Coachella. Maybe I’m underestimating the impact Gagacabana will have, but I don’t see anything being dropped specifically in relation to it.

Well I did think about everything you said so you definitely have a point!

That said, as far as we know, she has no major public/TV event planned where she could debut a new single to secure numbers, IF there is a new single.

So naturally if there’s one, she has to debut it one way or another. Rio will probably cause quite a lot of media coverage since the crowd will be absolutely huge, and while the Brazil boost would not affect the single’s position in the US, it would absolutely push it on the Billboard Global 200 which is drastically more significant than the Hot 100.

I’m not preparing myself to the idea, I’m just asking a question and having fun
