Vimo 1,061
The United-States are not in a good place right now and seeing SO MANY flags in that concert made me cringe. Like I get it, country, blabla. But still. Also was disappointed in how much stuff was brought back from the Renaissance Tour and how she barely dances anymore. She gave all her breaks to Blue... she rocked them, but... I wanna see BEY dance. 2

Hell stadium pop tours were less common pre-pandemic as well. Bey & Taylor were some of the first actual pop acts to do worldwide stadium tours and utilise stadium scale productions starting with Formation & Rep tours in 2016/17. Prior to that the only pop act to utilize a non-box stage was Take That on UK only tours. And **** knows how they afford it. Even Madonna has only ever used box stage tours for her stadium shows. Beyonce, Taylor & The Weeknd to this day are the only pop acts that consistently go on stadium tours and all-stadium tours. And the only pop acts that use stadium scale productions as opposed to box stages when they do stadium tours. Every Gaga stadium show has been a box stage. Every Madonna stadium show has been a box stage. Every P!nk stadium show has been a box stage. Same with Dua Lipa's UK stadium tour. Same with Lana Del Ray. Same with MJ's. Stadium shows have historically been the playground of rock acts like Rammstein, Metallica, Muse, U2 etc. 2

Devil's advocate, that pit is also overpriced and not sold out in pretty much all the shows - but it's not the same as GA and is priced precisely to ensure it isn't crammed full of people. The Club Ho-Down pits (the two ones towards the tip of the stage in the middle) were half the price and look a lot more full as a result. 1 hour ago, Davidsdaze said: You seem salty oh nana what's my name 1 1

I feel like screens have been a thing for a while now, people should know how to do a proper staging. Also the Rep tour, FWT, and both OTR tours (Bey+Jay) should have given pop artists a bit more ideas on staging. But you're right that stadium shows weren't really that common even 5 years ago and are now starting to become more and more of a thing.

But you're right that stadium shows weren't really that common even 5 years ago and are now starting to become more and more of a thing. Yeah even as far back as the 90s rock acts like U2 had much bigger stadium stage concepts than pop acts generally did. And tbf U2 often led the way on the capabilities of arena tours as well. But back then, tours were way less profitable for the pop music industry. Live music has traditionally been a thing for the metal heads and big time rock acts. And yeah until the last 10 years, summer stadium tours were predominantly just festival sets and big park performances for the majority of all performers. Rep & Formation really should have been the gauntlet throw down moment for the pop world. Renaissance, After Hours and Eras are unmistakably that moment. Its a shame the industry's response has been higher prices for the same standards rather than higher prices for elevated standards.

I get what ur saying cause it is jarring, but it literally takes a couple of seconds of genuinely listening to what she has to say and paying attention to the show to understand none of the show is praising America for where it's at right now, its a reclamation of the American flag and reminder of what America should be. The very yucky feeling you're describing experiencing from seeing the flag is why she is doing this, to stop it from going hand in hand with white supremacy and so forth, diminishing it to "country blabla" is crazy 😭. I get it we're trained to sense "danger" and ew when seeing patriotic imagery, but that's why she's doing this, to remind us we don't need to feel that way when seeing this. 6

This whole show is exclusively about cowboy carter and the 3 Acts project. Beyonce is not afraid to fully commit to her new projects without being stuck performing her old songs just to please the general public. She understands that if she wants to keep relevance while getting older, she needs to give to her fans and the public something new and not get caught in the "nostalgia" prison. I think that gaga might have understood that while creating the Mayhem ball, bc she let go of a lot of her older hits that she used to sing all the time, including Just dance, to stay more focused on Mayhem. Thats the same reason why she started the chromatica ball with the big 3 (just dance, Poker Face, bad romance), with a very static performance where she was turning around the whole time ( = as if whe was stuck in the prison of having to perform her old stuff). Also same reason why she performed DWAS very quickly and didnt put that much energy in it for the Mayhem concerts, to not reduce herself to this collab that has become a gigantic hit. I'm so glad! Do not want to hear single ladies on a tour like this. I feel like the new music is way more elevated it would feel out of place imo. Let the middle aged mum's who still think I am Sascha feirce was her last album seethe and enjoy the new music Edited April 29 by Karl

nodandsmile 10,668
acts 2, 5 and 6 were my faves... incredible act 1 the weakest in my opinion, expected more for "Ya Ya" she was probably conserving her energy it's an almost 3h show after all! I hope this tour shows people you can be American without being representative of what America IS right now. I hope I didn't come off too mean bae <

gagzus 16,008
I’m not a Beyoncé fan but I loved the Renaissance tour and album. I don’t think the fashion hits as much this tour as the last & I don’t like the redo of an entire performance (Alien Superstar & Cosy specifically) aesthetic and like beat for beat if you get me. Yeah sure reuse the choreo but like just redoing the blanket behind and the frames and stuff in a different material is kinda meh. BUT she sounded amazing as per.
