You say that but there was one musicals release the same year as JFAD literally being one of the Top 5 highest grossings movie of that year, (Wicked), And another one had biggest year on award circuit, (Emilia Perez), despite all the hate from some people.

What makes her stand out as an actress is her well-roundedness. She CAN do all of that like Barbra Streisand before her and people like it. Notice most of Barbra's biggest roles were musical-based or featured music of hers. That's a selling point of Gaga, too. Y'all telling her to not embrace that is, frankly, a terrible idea when her only unmitigated success was the movie she basically went 50-50 on between acting and music. People like her voice. They like her singing. And they HATE basically anyone else doing it. It's very clear she wants to be a broadway star in some capacity at some point and doing something like this tees her up for that.

Exactly. Musicals fans will see musicals movies. Guys and Dolls is also classic stage play, when done right it will also sell well.

You hit the nail on the head.

I know we want her to show versatility, but it makes perfect sense for her stick to these kinds of roles when she's basically the only person rn who can do what she does. I'm sure she knows she isn't the strongest actor out there (yet ), but being a singer is what sets her a part and makes her special. She's not getting calls to be in gritty  dramas or whatever, she's getting calls to be Lady Gaga - which isn't something anyone else can do lol 

Also she's been in like 4 movies so far lol. She's got plenty of time to transition to less musical roles when she's proven herself capable.

Exactly. It’s not even that she’s more or less talented as that’s kinda just an opinion but more so its the business of it: it’s a saturated field! There’s a LOT of dramatic actresses rn who are known for that and pull for that. But like you said in her lane it’s not crowded and she loves it. Slam dunk!
