Trump Reportedly Trying To Figure Out How To Fire Jerome Powell

Donald Trump is reportedly studying how they might be able to fire Fed Chairman Jerome Powell who has been a major irritation to Donald Trump after repeatedly refusing to cut interest rates after Trumps frequent demands to do so.

 

After this last meeting Powell Announced another hold on rates in the 4.25% to 4.5% range Trump complained on social media that the end of his term cant come soon enough

 

Jerome Powell is currently scheduled to preside over the Federal Reserve until 2028.

 

It is considered highly inappropriate For a President or leader of any Democracy to try and tell Central Banks what to do as they are considered independent Government Agencies that should be shielded from politics to ensure stability and political abuse for short term gains

 

Recently Christine Lagarde who ran the European Central Bank (ECB) publicly stated that an attempt to fire Jerome Powell would crush confidence in the US dollar as it would signal authoratarian manipulation of US Monetary Policy!

This is exactly why Central Banks operate seperately from Federal & Sovereign Governments...

 

Trump wants lower rates for short term economic boost that would benefit him and his party politically but based on current economic conditions and inflation rate those rates cuts Trump wants are not justified and could even harm the US economy by creating more inflation later and blowing up asset bubbles

 

By being independant of the Government, Central Banks can make decisions that are in the Nations best interests without political pressures or interfearances

 

In the world of economics, Trumps repeated involvement and comments on Monetary policy are considered extremely inapropriate to put it mildly

I saw Trump's name so I just dropped in to say how much I loathe and despise him.

I can't do it justice though. There isn't a number big enough to quantify the level of my loathing, and there are no words which can adequately express the extent to which I despise him. Him and all his f-----g works.
