FfFfFfFF 54,842
Idk if this was talked about before, but Coachella got me listening to Paparazzi obsessively and I couldn't not notice the similarity Paparazzi - Yellow, dance and we turn. My lashes are dry. Purple teardrops I cry Shadow of a Man - Hard to be the yellow in a purple sky peeking through the eye of the storm. Yellow and purple are complementary colors, opposite on the color wheel. Could Shadow of a Man be a reflection on her early extravagant career characterized by a violent clash of colors? Is this just a chromatic reference or is an Easter Egg of sorts? 1
Oriane 20,480
I actually noticed this on first listen, it's so peculiar to mention yellow and purple like that. The only TAG member who can read / Credits to Celloo Deng for the profile pic!
Anderson123 37,455
Could be another reference to Prince but who knows. Interesting way to link these two songs.
mattbri 1,358
how i see it: it's difficult to be the sun (yellow) in the sky (purple) (i.e., fame).

It maybe sticking out against a purple background but yellow and purple are also complementary colors and basically cancel each other when they are combined, creating a grey, dead color. Kimistee 1
My take on this is about thunder (yellow tone) in a purple sky as when it’s stormy the sky gets purple (dark) and the next lyric is “Peakin' through the eye of the storm”. As this is a song about empowerment, I believe she’s saying that sometimes it’s difficult to be strong all the time. sorry it’s my interpretation, I love this song so much
