FameGa Perfect Celebrity AI cover

I got bored, had an idea, and spent many, many hours creating this AI cover of Perfect Celebrity with Fame era Gaga vocals. It's not perfect by any means but I tried!

Armed with nothing but Audacity, absolutely zero music knowledge, and a dream

Nah I thought the exact same thing   my Famega AI model can't do all the raspy gritty vocals very well so it just sounds like she's softly singing. But I guess kinda accurate to The Fame vocals considering I trained it on songs like Summerboy and Eh Eh

Don’t get me wrong, i love how much Gaga's vocals have evolved but i miss the soft vocals  in pop music, and her accent showed through a lot more. Besides the parts that’s are a tad off , i really love this. Would love a couple more gaga songs with a similar vocal approach. I have found sometimes i prefer when gaga sings incorrectly. There were so many moments on harlequin where Gaga said she sang incorrectly intentionally and vocally, thats the best I've heard from her in recent times.

Something that's really different is how she pronounces her vowels now. She leans more towards open oh, oo, ah sounds now but way back at the start she tended to use a lot of ee, aye, eye sounds. So even when you use a Famega AI model on current vocals it will still sound like a blend because it's like.. Famega mimicking Mayhemga

I absolutely love how she uses her voice now though. She's really mastered every corner of her instrument and can use it to tell such a story. But sometimes I too miss the girly pop voice

I wanted to eventually do the reverse, an AI trained on her current Chromatica-Mayhem voice and cover The Fame songs. But it's just too much work just to make a silly little song for 10 people to see 

 

P.S. it could have been so much better if I had the stems but obviously they haven't leaked for Mayhem yet   the AI model I use couldn't split all the vocal layers cleanly apart so I had to take tiny bits and pieces to stitch it all together and some of those were the best clips I could get

Oh wow, that’s actually scary, somehow I kinda forgot how her early voice sounded, I perfectly remember the songs obviously but I’m so so used to the voice that I don’t hear it anymore, I couldn’t imagine the new with her old voice

I really noticed the biggest shift in gaga’s vocals with ARTPOP. I can hear the softer more girly voice in several moments as late as born this way, but it seems around the time ARTPOP came out, there was a (not so) gradual shift in the way she sing. I think since ARTPOP was produced so heavy, i didnt notice it as much at the time (now i see thats when it happened). Joanne was the first record where i had noticed gagas voice sounded much different at the time of release. I love gagas voice nowadays but i feel like it really sticks out with her classical/jazz covers. She is super classically trained in a way that sometimes pop music doesn't Require. Love it regardless though.

the reverse would be so interesting! Like studio versions of how she now sounds live singing older songs

For Perfect Celebrity you can imagine how her old voice irl would have pronounced "mine" in the chorus but like you say atm her modern vowel choices are a bit too strong for the ai to divert enough away. That moan at the very start though really did sound 2008

Right? We are just so used to her voice on The Fame that we forget what it actually sounded like compared to now. She was so girly sounding and now she's a fully matured whoman

Yes I know exactly what you're talking about! It was definitely her shift into jazz that influenced her mature voice. That and cigarettes

Okay fine MAYBE my ADHD will send me into another obsessive hyperfocus mode for an entire weekend and I'll create a MatureGa AI model   we'll see

Yes! Exactly that! I know you know what I'm talking about. With her current technique the mine is 'moine', and back then she had a very specific way of pronouncing words that was like kinda nasally, in the back of the throat, like 'mi-een'

Well it is trained on 30 minutes of her The Fame era voice like Summerboy, Paparazzi and Money Honey..
