China to impose 34% tariff on all US imports

China’s finance ministry on Friday said it will impose a 34% tariff on all goods imported from the U.S. starting on April 10, following duties imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration earlier this week, according to state news outlet Xinhua.

“China urges the United States to immediately cancel its unilateral tariff measures and resolve trade differences through consultation in an equal, respectful and mutually beneficial manner,” Xinhua cited the finance ministry as saying in a Google-translated report.

The ministry further criticized Washington’s decision to impose 34% of additional reciprocal levies on China — bringing total U.S. tariffs against the country to 54% — as “inconsistent with international trade rules” and “seriously” undermining Chinese interests, as well as endangering “global economic development and the stability of the production and supply chain.”

Tbh, US is on a downward trajectory for quite some time now, they don't invest in people, meanwhile China continues to do so. Trump just accelerates it.

I'm not convinced the GOP has enough spine to move against Trump. 

Unless the funders pay them to do so. 

What's interesting is the MAGA sphere is increasingly trying to argue Nations should line up and be first in line to make a deal. And they only started doing this after countries started talking to eachother about coordinating responses to the USA rather than going direct to the US.

China's just announced 16 US entities are being added to it's export control list (aka banned from exporting from China). 11 foreign entities on its "unreliable entity" list which allows it to take action against them. And suspended export qualifications for 6 US companies. 

It's also placed export controls on 7 rare elements which are used in consumer electionics, preventing their sale to the US. 

We're rapidly approaching global stock market crash territory.
