NEWS: Whirlpool Corp. announces Iowa's largest layoff of 2025 in Amana manufacturing facility. Nearly 1/3 of the company’s workforce in the Iowa facility will be let go due to current market conditions.

DETROIT, April 3 (Reuters) - Stellantis NV, maker of Ram trucks and Jeeps, said on Thursday it was temporarily laying off 900 workers at five U.S. facilities after President Donald Trump's tariffs were announced.

I actually think the US is doing this because they have had a shortage of soldiers / new conscripts in the military. If you d not provide jobs for people especially young men, they will sign up to the army. The US is preparing for a hot war with China within the next 10 years...it's becoming increasingly more obvious (hence the rapprochement with Russia at all costs)....these next few years are going to be so dark. We are only seeing the tip of the spear I think.

It's not that complicated, Trump and his cronies are making money off of a recession. That's all it is.

The US warhawks absolutely want to fight China.

But if this is their strategy, they're setting themselves up to lose without China needing to fire a single bullet. 

This week, China, S.Korea & Japan met for the first time in 5 years to discuss closer trading ties. None of those nations get along, and 2 are major US security partners in that region.

The tariffs target Taiwan, and risk doing Beijing's work for it.

Australia, a key security partner, also heavily targeted by the tariffs and signaling a move away from the US. 

The EU, UK & China are increasingly talking to one another. 

The majority of Latin Am & African nations are closer allies due to financial support to Russia & China.

The US may want a war, but its increasingly setting itself up to be alone in that war vs the rest of the world.
