I think Katy is very good at writing catchy pure pop songs. Her peak eras have some of favourite pop songs ever.  Pure pop hasn’t been as popular for a while, so she feels a bit out of touch, and of course the Dr Luke thing hurt her a lot. But I think enough people will still appreciate a pretty melody and catchy chorus so eventually one of her songs could catch on again. But it will need to be the right moment in time. I love that Gaga is riding a wave for Mayhem even if the singles aren’t breaking through as much as I think they deserve, but this is the reality for pop stars in this stage of their lives and careers. Pop music loves young breakthroughs.

On top of the Luke collab', was it also his idea to both pander to gays and erase them from her video according to the country where they were promoting 143? 😆 

And she's voting republican locally despite the consequences, forced a kiss on a young dude, continued to harass old ladies even after one of them died of an heart attack during a trial. 

Imo she's not really coming back strong in music after disappointing her fans quality-wise, and betraying her alleged values...

I agree. She's had at least 6-7 years to do this, the reinvention for Witness didn't work and I honestly believe her hair had a lot to do with it. It's petty but we live in a petty world. Everyone was so used to her long brown hair look and all of a sudden she became Ellen DeGeneres. Witness had so many potential hits. She's had a few good songs since then, but I've come to the conclusion she's an industry puppet and that 2010-2014 type pop sound is long gone in the mainstream. I must admit she comes across very likeable in her interviews. She's a mother now, this could've been her Ray of Light era  but it was a perfect storm for a flop from the start, especially overhyping woman's world which I can't help but expect those vocal chops from Stupid Love in the chorus everytime I hear it
