OMF 3,362
Is this why the tour poster has that boring font? 1 2
Seringai 246
Well there is a metal band called Mayhem that had been there since 1984, why they dont sue the band too? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayhem_(band)

PeachJug 3,065
there’s no case here to say they share anything more than a similar grungy aesthetic is a disservice to typography and graphic design as art forms 9 1

Pandacadabra 7,874
They are reaching. Gaga's Mayhem logo looks inkblot/Rorschach as opposed to the Surfboard company's Mayhem which has sharp pointed "M"s. This will be thrown out of court. Nothing more than a publicity stunt to boost the sales of a company I've never heard of.
SpadesToStart 3,172
I hate when people lawyer up just to try to cash in on suing a celebrity or corporation. Like, how does this impact the surfboard company’s brand or bottom line? The answer: it doesn’t. They’re just greedy and want some of that sweet, sweet Lady Gaga money. 1

IllusionLover 6,595
There's similarities in the way the font is used, but so do the Metallica, and Batman logos, so I just think it's a common way to style the fonts 13 | this is my dancefloor i fought for, your voice is louder, it echoes

And it's almost surely purely coincidental given the only truly identical thing is the word: mayhem. By one definition mayhem means "a situation in which there is little or no order or control." And there's only so many ways you could stylize the word by its definition so typeface/style coincidences are bound to happen. Ask 10 graphic or type designers to come up with a typeface with one prompt: "mayhem" and see what happens. I guarantee most of them would come up with something similar to either Gaga's or Lost International's logo. edit: one user above mentioned the Norweigan band Mayhem and looking at their logo, it's quite unique (Evanescence evokes the same style) but again you see the downward curving M's.
