I just saw Katy edged Gaga out of the top 5, Katy is 5 and Gaga is 6. I mean, Katy did have tremendous chart success and this list considers their whole careers in this century not just the latest results. But it feels wrong given all of Gaga’s albums since BTW have been number 1 and Katy’s last few have tanked. I guess the “tying Michael Jackson” thing will always be important to Billboard.

Rihanna at #2 is a joke. I love her music but let’s be real she is no longer a musician. She hasn’t released an album in almost a decade. She was active for 10 out of the 25 years this century. Can we stop placing her on SUCH a high pedestal for her quick career in music? The more her past career gets awarded and the more we keep listening to her old songs, the less likely she is to return to music. Why bother? If Gaga didn’t release an album since Joanne she’d be so high up on that list.

i'm wondering if hits from before the streaming era are holding more weight than today's hits, even rihanna is number 2 and her whole catalogue of hits come from the age of digital sales

I am confused with how billboard rank things .She was 5th in the pop stars ranking and ahead of Katy and Adele .But now she is sixth and below them? I don't mind it but I am wondering the criteria they use it's time for their rankings.

THIS! They ranked Katy at 25 in that list a few months ago....I'm not upset about this list but Billboard, make it make sense haha
