I enjoyed it both times I watched it and it’s not a bad movie but I do understand why it pissed so much people off. Its tone is so different compared to the original. It’s also way too different from the source material. At least some people started to appreciate it more and the mess with Emilia Perez made some folks appreciate Gaga’s nature response to the backlash of her film.

Joker 2 is a solid movie, just not what people are expecting it to be. This is a movie about tragedy and a commentary about sensationalism vs empathy. People expected action, Joker 2 was much more than that

The only issue I have with this movie is that it was so long for a courtroom drama movie. It could've been much more than that like the first one. And also making Gaga sing, like come on now, can you directors come up with something else anytime y'all cast her? What the hell.

Straight people's issue with it destroying what the first movie created (a psycho modern-times antihero) is none of mah gay business

I really enjoyed it when I went to see it. Definitely some flaws, but nowhere near as bad as the backlash made it seem. Beautifully shot, great performances, really interesting themes.

It’s probably Gaga’s most fully realised acting performance as well, though there is not enough of her in the movie for that to properly shine through.
