Maybe I'm utterly wrong about this but I just feel it's a massive mistake making it a single. And if it flops, there's a huge chance it could impact how far the album's promo campaign can go from here. Disease flopped, Abra massively underperformed, we can't risk a third consecutive single tanking. The next choice has to be right. And it has to be safe. Garden of Eden and HBDUWM are the best summer options. If both those songs become singles, I'll be happy. VIY can come at the end, if all else fails, but not right now. We have to give the public what they want and it's not this. I hope Gaga does indeed read GGD so she can see some dissenting opinions. 

She meant sirens like ambulances bc they’re driving on the highway I think. It’s not really artsy; it’s pretty straightforward tbh it just sounds pretty lol I’d agree with HBDYWM as potential but I think garden of eden, while fun, gets a liiiiiittle cringe with the garden of Eden parts. She could sell it though! I don’t think your single choices are all bad either but I could see a certain immediacy to VIY or Killah that could catch attention well but VIY feels like it would perform better at a festival which is likely where she wants to premiere the next single’s performance. Anthony Fantano said it sounded like ABBA and I totally agree. Plus it’s a huge sonic departure from the darker sounds of Disease and Abracadabra which could put it closer to the fans who like DWAS. The only problem with HBDYWM’s chances are the TSwift comparisons. That might hurt its recognizability on the charts

It makes sense that this would be the next single. The way it's placed on the tracklist and the lyrics "It was cold in the summertime" make sense too.. esp with summer approaching in the north. not surprised and I think the song will do moderately well with the GP

Not you trying to come for TTPD aka an album that debuted with 2.61M sales while stanning Mayhem aka an album that debuted with 219k sales. TTPD has outsold MAYHEM by 11.9x in the first week of their release.

Same. It would also flop on the charts. Honestly, I don't think any of the songs left on Mayhem would do well.

I can see SOAM and EOD doing somewhat okay on the charts, but she doesn’t really have any sure-fire hits on the album. Which I personally like because I love it when she doesn’t try to please the masses and makes whatever she wants lol but yeah, I don’t think any songs will chart high

I would love SOAM to be the next single (which is one of my faves), but I'm afraid GP would not connect to it lyrics wise. That said, I could be wrong, who knows, Gaga always surprises us!

This is wild because I feel like MAYHEM has the most single material from any of her albums  I could see literally any song being a feasible single option. Some definitely more than others, but I don't think there'd be a "bad" decision to pick any of the remaining songs.
