it makes sense to me. the rise in country music main stream was a phase for the most part. this song was performed on SNL months prior to official release and is a vastly different sounding song in comparison to all her previous releases.

this was creative homage to her roots and i think it was something she should have released for the integrity of the art and who she is.

it's not for me, it's too country for my taste, but i appreciate and respect it. i believe in her music project and think she will release music in the future that resonates sonically with people, like Midwest Princess and GLB already have. she's just having fun with her gig rn

She's a queer icon so I wish her success

However the song is so random, same for the visuals

I love her but this song is too corny/predictable and it sort of gives zero sense of emergency. Why would I go back to this and listen to it again?

Yeah, I agree tbh. The song is very cheeky and cute, but not especially memorable or impactful

As a queer in North Carolina, most of my other queer friends have been blasting this non-stop!

Well tell them to work harder because it’s tanking!

It’s hard to know who this song was for. Country fans are the least likely to want to listen to an explicitly lesbian song. And also I would say a large percentage of her gay following is not into country music. So the two groups that should potentially embrace this song either for genre or artist are likely not going to. I think the initial numbers make sense as curiosity but a quick fall makes sense to me. As one small data point, I have no desire to listen to this song again and Midwest princess was my most listened to album last year.

I like Chappell but can't get into any of her music. Good for her because it seems like she's doing what she wants and maybe it's a bit too early for that. She's just riding on the post Grammys and breakthrough singles hype that people were thirsty for what she's doing next but this is not it, not for me at least.

I'm open to diverse genres, however I did not care for the song. Chappell is hit or miss for me to start with tho

No shocker, I listened to it once and it was enough for me, hopefully the rest of the new album is better than this cause MWP was really amazing!
