Been a long week for her. She said it herself in this interview that she just can't wait to sleep. She tried her best in this interview in this condition. I just finished listening and he did not ask her about sex now. He mainly asked her about her creative and songwriting process very much in depth. How does she come up with song concepts, how much does she play the piano, did she give a name to her piano? (she did not). Stuff like that.
Head Empty 24,618
Most of his questions are him putting words in her mouth and not liking it when her answers have more nuance. Plus she's too kind to call him out on stupid questions most of the time Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺

Ziggy 11,049
I don’t think yall really get how interviews work lmao he’s asking and adding context to his questions bc he wants to give her space to make more nuance. He doesn’t care how he sounds; it’s about the guest. This is the best interview about the actual music the entire era so thank you Howard. They really connect in a love for music, no bullshit. It’s great. Any "discomfort", though i wouldn't call it that, is actually I think Gaga isn't used to being asked like...real questions about her process and musicality and work. She's usually asked some variation of the same fluff, but Howard genuinely loves her and her musicality so he wants to know the ins and outs and she's obviously a bit tired from the promo cycle thus far and SNL. Honestly she strikes me as hyper comfortable. Like comfortable enough to just say, "hmmmm" and "ummm" and take pauses before answering. I think she seems the most at ease here. As usual, amazing, chill interview. I think he was really cool to talk to Tim and really give him real questions to talk while also razzing Gaga. I think they have a fantastic interviewer relationship. You can tell he can never get enough of talking to her it's really sweet. I wish we got a little bit more Robin because I think she is always a great addition to the convos and so sweet and she clearly loves Gaga, too, but that's alright. I hope she comes back sooner than 9 years from now lmao Edited 3 hours ago by Ziggy
ChvVolk 2,064
I listened to the whole thing at work, he didn't ask anything inappropriate so not sure what yall are talking about. He was actually very respectful, praised her a ton. And he asked a lot of questions about the album. He played Abracadabra, The Beast, Killah, Blade of Grass, and was very happy for her. Definitely a different Howard than before. 2
LastNight 5,896
I really enjoyed this interview! I don’t get the dislike. Super interesting to hear her talk about ASIB this many years later! I really loved hearing more about her songwriting and creative process, especially her talking about how Killah and Abracadabra were made. Plus, I’ll never get tired of hearing about her love for Bruce Springsteen. Howard does ask questions with a lot of assumption behind them, but I feel like she always clears it up with her answers and will correct him. It’s kind of nice to have someone who’s a totally different demographic asking her questions, you get answers you wouldn’t otherwise. I think they have a great rapport! Definitely worth a listen - another great interview from her this week.

I think he asks with empty assumptions that normal people might have to give her room and comfortability to go deep and be herself. He does that a lot to show real investment and interest in the guest and the way they think and give them space to speak to what "everyone is thinking", you know? I think he's great in that regard
bowlsofbrett 432
It was actually a pretty good interview. Gaga is so humble and kind. Her vocals were amazing!
Donatello 114
I felt the interview went offbeat after the topic on her name 'Gaga', a similar vibe shift to the Act II question at Spotify. She clearly doesn't want to revisit that history, she had to change the subject, and Howard makes no sense asking that two decades into her career.
