GerMonsterNotta 1,310
Mayhem gave me everything I wanted AND more….. im glad we didn’t just get 13 tracks of perfect celebrities or disease… although I LOVE both and this would have still been epic… the funkiness of Zombieboy and Killah just feel so refreshing…we know she had this in her, (ie expressing this on I want your love…) ….. HBDYWM is also a sweet treat!!! GOE with that 00s flavour remains amazing!!! And Shadow of Man as the Telephone meets MJ…… It gave us SO much, it reminds me personally a bit like Future Nostalgia, but better, where the album really takes you on journey, …. it feels fresh but reinvents and reimagines vintage sounds… and her vocal throughout is perhaps the best she’s ever sounded.. pink mochi 357
Lots of great songs! Some songs I haven't fully bitten into yet but that's okay! I'm enjoying Killah, How Bad Do U Want Me, Garden of Eden, Vanish into You
Economy 48,805
My honest opinion: - I like the 3 original singles (Disease is still my fav of all) - in addition to Disease, Abra and DWAS I liked Perfect Celebritity and The Beast the most - Killa started to grow on me after SNL performance abd blade of grass is starting to as well. I dont love it as much as the other 5 songs as of now tho The other half of the album I dont care for. Sorry guys. Im glad its being well received and loved by fans but all that disco funk isnt my cup of tea... I loved that sound in perfect celebrity and what she said in Las Culturistas that she thought of making the whole album sound like that, i wish she did

You can take a sample and make it fresh, Doja Cat did that with "Paint the town red". Anyways, I do not agree that anything on Mayhem sounds dated. It's production is very modern. hamartia 762
I sound like a Little Sycophant but I loved in on day 1 and I love it even more now I listen to the entire album every time and I've never skipped a song on any listen through. I don't think I've even played a single song by itself yet? (aside from the singles before the album came out, obv) It just sounds so good from start the finish and I love the journey it takes me on. The amazing music combined with the wait finally being over, and with spring being right around the corner... it just makes me so happy and hopeful for the future I know the world is a scary place right now and a Lady Gaga album of all things isn't going to make that go away, but I'm grateful that she was able to make something that can dig people out of their despair. She did it when I was a teenager with BTW and she did it again with MAYHEM Edited March 17 by hamartia 1
mightyriverz 2,284
everything on it is growing on me especially the fact i can sing blade of grass like "wrap that blade of grass around my d1ck I'll fvck your 4ss"
BloodyM 1,251
first few listens, I wasn't so sure. Now I love it so much, and I think it' her best album to date. I am not getting the hate over The Beat and Blade of Grass, they are 2 of the strongest songs on the album. The only song that's I would replace with one of the vinyl exclusive is How Bad Do You Want Me.
bornthisway135 552
It’s her best album since ARTPOP. Joanne good but it is dated, and Chromatica was overall so bad — minus 3 stand out tracks. How Bad Do You Want Me should have been a piano ballad. Hate the production. It’s a hard skip for me. Every other song on the album are fantastic. The Beast has grown on me. And I love Blade of Grass every once in awhile. Just like Angel Down. Shadow of a Man, Vanish Into You, and Garden of Eden need to be released as singles domestically, internationally, or both. Cpeer 3,331
( Minus the 1. & 2. song) I like the second part of the album more LoveDrug - Don’t Call Tonight - Shadow of a Man are top tier songs I don’t get the hype about Garden of Eden

I can’t put into words how much I was looking forward to this album. As much as I anticipated it, it turned out to be just as much of a disappointment. But honestly, I already had a feeling in the week leading up to its release that this would be the case. I love Disease and Abracadabra, and the impression these two singles gave was very misleading—even though Gaga had already stated that the album would be a mix of many different genres. I think that was an exaggerated claim, much like the album covers and the photoshoot. Unpopular opinion, but my favorite Gaga album is Chromatica, which was also a disappointment upon release because it didn’t deliver the hard-hitting sound I had hoped for. However, over time, I grew to love it because I’m a huge fan of house, techno, and dance music. I really hoped that Mayhem would make up for the fact that the final version of Chromatica didn’t turn out the way its demos had initially suggested—especially since Disease and Abracadabra seemed to hint in that direction. Well, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. That being said, Mayhem is still a very good album, but it doesn’t satisfy my personal taste. While I do enjoy listening to it, every single time I play it, I can’t shake off the feeling of disappointment—like, this is what I waited so long for? And now I have to wait who knows how long for the next album. Even the Gesaffelstein tracks didn’t deliver what I expected from them, and I’m really disappointed that Gaga didn’t collaborate with Burns again. I truly hope she works with Zhone on her next album. While Mayhem is, in some ways, deserving of the AOTY title, for me, the album of 2025 so far is Louder, Please by Rose Gray. This is quite fair and very honest. I also had a very different idea of what Gesaffelstein’s involvement would sound like, especially Killah. I do love his work on Mayhem but it was quite the surprise. Something that has always happened to me with Gaga’s albums was that the singles were not the best part of it, but the deep cuts would blow me away. Sadly I felt like Disease was still the best and Abracadabra the 2nd best so expectations were quite high after that. I do love Mayhem, it’s my 3rd favorite album right now because it flows so well and keep falling in love with it every day more and more.

It’s one of my favorites from her in a while. that being said, I do feel like this album is a bait and switch. Like I knew she said this album was a mix of genres so I’m not bothered that it’s not fully dark pop, but it’s mainly just disco/funk pop with a couple dark pop songs. It’s not really varied like she claimed. I thought there would be more variety by how she described it. Hearing the album now, all imagery and album shoot doesn’t really match the vibe. No one could have said it better
