Chromatica w/out BloodPop is better

My baseless theory is that the album was edgier originally (eg. Rain On Me demo with Boys Noize production, Babylon demo, Free Woman demo) but then the label said "no." and BloodPop had to sand down the edges

This same cycle happens on GGD every time a new album comes out, the previous one gets a lashing for whatever reason

All things considered, Chromatica is a decent album and Gaga did very well to input what she could to its creation at a difficult time for her. Bloodpop isn’t my favourite producer by far but he made it a cohesive and fun album overall

Stop acting like it was a super album destroyed by BoodPop. It was only Alice, Replay, Enigma n Babylon.

I have absolutely no issue with how Chromatica was produced. Some of the songwriting wasn't up to Gaga's best ("Plastic Doll", "Free Woman") but the sound was immaculate.

I’m not! I just want the best for her and clearly a organized team and someone pushing her to her artistic direction is the way to go. We miss the fun in her albums and it finally shows with Mayhem.

Gaga was not in a good headspace during Chromatica. I can’t think of a single fun song in the album. Hopeful yes, sexy, angry etc but playful I can’t think at the top of my head.

I see it as at the end of the day it was never gonna be exactly what it “could” have been bc it truly couldn’t have been more given where she was at the time. That’s it. Yeah the demos had harder sounds. The songs were worse though let’s be so honest with ourselves and Gaga is even admitting as much now. It’s the best she could have done.
