U.K. charts also have a rule called ACR, caused by Ed sheeran’s divide album bomb lol - if a song has charted for 10 or more weeks already; and has seen 3 consecutive weeks of decline, it’s chart points get halved. This can happen on the 10th week, 15th week, 27th week etc just as long as the song decreases for 3 weeks. 
 

That’s why many songs debut and spend 9 weeks in the U.K. top 10 and 20, and by week 10, they drop from say #5 like #27. Slow burn hits, on the other hand, May peak in their 28th week and then start decreasing, so their points would get halved in the 31st week.

 

It’s good and bad. On the one hand, it keeps the charts fresh and less stagnant than billboard. Although it can happen really randomly and suddenly before an artist can peak. However, artists can rebound from ACR if a song suddenly gets continued growth again
