Have you never been here for release week? The next LG megathread normally gets created day of lmao. Surprised I haven't seen a LG8 thread but I think we all know it's not happening in the next 5-10 yeara 4 hours ago, TEANUS said: OT: MAYHEM (Extended/Expanded) would be sickening! Including Mustang, Can’t Stop the High, Frankensteined (2025), the song that’s leaking, and whatever else would be huge fan service Id be happy with just Mustang I want it so bad
Versace 7,959
I expect the 2 exclusive songs to make it to streaming in the near future. That much is realistic to expect, if her team wants to push a proper deluxe down the line I won’t mind but I’m not feeling entitled to it.
showmeyourfeet 141
I think people just love the waiting part of it all. Like after a concert you have nothing to wait and be hyped for. It's paradoxical. Especially in this fandom the hopes, fantasies and expectations are endless. We just wait for the moment that it feels exactly like back in 2010, but it will never come. It just isn't possible. That's why we always must cherish and appreciate what we have in the moment. Many things create the sum that is the feeling of a thing or a time, and it cannot ever be replicated and that is the ultimate beauty of it that we desperately seem to long for. lol got a bit philosophical there but that's who I am 1
skilla78 1
There's definitely a possibility of doing the Charli-x duets thing. But it's almost too predictable. I think Disease was actually the most original sound of the whole album - I think Disease and 911 are her best tracks for me. Existentially bleak - but also liberating in its wisdom about the prison of the human condition/desire/habitual thinking. Mayhem is so fun and tonally playful album + musically literate. The rest of the album is great -- it's pure pop homage, postmodern like Saltburn the movie as an album. It's almost like an elevated tribute album to different sounds but with her own personal lyrics and connection to the material. (eg. Zombie Boy, Vanish into You - Tony and maybe Bowie too) She could own the references with duet album but I think that kills the AI era mystery of it all. Garden of Eden - with Kesha (and Pink and Gwen Stefani in the trapeze) How Bad Do You Want Me - with Taylor Swift Zombie Boy - with Debbie Harry The Beast - with Madonna (ha! that won't happen) Blades of Grass - Coldplay and Kesha battling it out. But not sure how she's do the homage posthumous section: Killah - with Prince Vanish Into You - with Bowie Shadow of a Man - with Mickey J. She probably won't do anymore videos. They won't help streams of the album with no clear hits... they sort of tried How Bad do you want me on Australian radio but nobody bit. It was a bit of an uncanny valley without owning up to Taylor Swift AI/ Samples in bits. (even the how bad you do want me? me he he he he he ghosting. ) For different reasons - I love Diamond Heart (springsteen meets melissa etheredge), Sinner's Prayer , Happy Mistake, Electric Chapel (a bit voyage voyage - desire) , Love Drug (a bit hall and oats)... Perfect Illusion (like about 10 different artists fused into gaga which is why it's good) you & i + poker face of course are classics too. I Can't quite place the references on these tracks because they're blended seamlessly -- they just feel something like her own aesthetic.
