She said *loud repost* lmao ๐ https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP822tLuP/ I feel bad she has to see so many bad takes about the album's sound. She clearly loves MAYHEM so much, said it was her favorite record in a long time, and put so much work and effort into prioritizing fans this era. It must f*cking suck to see some people dismiss it because they feel "duped" by the genre-switching and stuff. I hope she understands that many people love the album just the way it is ๐ฆ ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฅ๐ธ๐๐ป๐บ๐ง๐๐โ๏ธ๐ช๐ค๐บ๐ฑ๐ 4
River 116,429
people are so dumb that everything needs to be delivered to them too literal these days, they can't stop for a second and think things through, dig deep into the music. pretty sad. Starmie25 18,569
The whole album has a very melancholy vibe, so the whole "gothic dreams" thing makes total sense. ย
Addison Rae 16,635
she said many times she isnโt adhering to one specific genre, that was the indication that mayhem wouldnโt be straight forward dark pop imoย sitting on his lap sipping diet pepsi
elegidadedios 1,926
About all this "it ain't dark pop, she misled it with those dark visuals" narrative... Let's take into perspective the following issue: ARTPOP had a colorful scheme, full of light and joy when it came to the whole visual thing. The concepts and vibes (specially with what she transmitted through the era) tell pretty much otherwise. Did she falsely advertised ARTPOP too? Kind of the same thing with Chromatica too (it may be a stronger example) It is dark because she deliverately decided to be so Edited March 8 by elegidadedios 2 1

But I'm sure Gaga can take it, not the first time that people don't get her album.
elijahfan 26,107
Ok, we all know the concept of genre is pretty vast. There can be multiple genres in the same sonic sphere of music, in the way Disease and Abra arenโt the same genre but are still under the same hard-hitting electronic umbrella. Thereโs no denying that through singles, visuals and even snippets, the project has always been marketed as a return to dark electronic pop. There wasnโt that much talk of disco, funk or 80s influences, if at all. No need to be doing mind gymnastics to tell fans they shouldnโt be feeling the way they feel. Then again, it doesnโt mean the album isnโt great. It just wasnโt fully what we expected or were lead to believe it would be, and thatโs ok. Past the initial surprise, I think weโre all enjoying this music. 3
R3L04DED J 1,589
Aw it upsets me to know sheโs seen this, a lot of people in the comments saying itโs disappointing as well as all the zionist comments and stuff.ย ย Iโm also quite out of it in terms of the reception it has received outside of GGD, so iโm shocked. I'm so happy she did y try to stick close to any formula and really spread her wings.ย Basically this. Fans who expected her to endlessly recycle Born This Way or any other era have only themselves to blame for not liking it. If thereโs one thing we, as longtime fans, can agree on, itโs that Gaga always finds a way to reinvent herself, and sheโs done it once again with an outstanding album. PartySick 159,866
I truly don't think a single Lady Gaga stan could define "dark pop" even if you gave them a dictionary ๐ธFlourishing and vibrant๐ผ 1

Ivy 12,515
I hope her and her team know that some rude comments are actually rival fanbases (katycats/madonna fans) doing a masquerade as Gaga fansย Why are artists expected to stay inside a genre anyway, I feel like that would be annoying if it was meย the meow in zombieboy
