The WAY Die With A Smile Fit So Perfectly

And ya'll were so worried that including Die With A Smile to Mayhem would be so out of place. The whole album was so eclectic and timeless in a way. When I thought I had figured out what Gaga is about, Mayhem proved me wrong. This is quite a departure from her previous concept albums. :firega::firega:

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I haven’t listened in full yet, but from what I’ve heard of the little bits and bobs so far, it really does seem like DWAS is a perfect close to the album, and doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb as many thought it would :nick:

Yesss!! I take back anything negative I said about the song being on the album. The transition from Blade of Grass to DWAS is flawless. Although, I feel people’s apprehension was because we’ve been misled about the sound of the album. I expected the whole record to sound like Perfect Celebrity where in fact there’s a lot of 80s bubblegum pop.

Even though I do think Blade of Grass would have and should have been the perfect ending to the album, I was positively surprised that DWAS did actually fit after that song... so I don't mind as I thought I would, but still gonna mostly skip the song :ohwell:

Honestly I think it's such a gaga thing to do to defy expectations. I am sure if anything this is the most gaga thing to do. Set up an expectation and then defy it and do what she wants. We all thought another dark album was coming after ARTPOP and then she came out with Joanne. It's in her DNA and I think it's what truly makes it a gaga album and makes it authentic that some fans might not appreciate until later. Chromatica seemed a bit too safe and like the fans ran what she did. This seems more in tune with her even if it's not what we expect.

It's the guitar tbh. So much of Mayhem is rock, so the funky guitar is DWAS fits perfect :flutter:

It definitely fits in after Blade of Grass, and we should all just chill about its inclusion. It's Smash With A Smile. :vegas: However, I may have just found some solid evidence that it was added in later... going through the metadata on Apple Music, on the purchased version from the iTunes store, all the tracks are listed as track <#> of 13, and Die With A Smile is track 14 of <blank>. I think someone forgot to change the metadata so it shows up as a 14-track album for the rest of the songs... woopsie made an oopsie. Either that, or someone at Apple is being shady af.
