WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Monday directed a “pause” to U.S. assistance to Ukraine after a disastrous Oval Office meeting as Trump seeks to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to engage in peace talks with Russia.

A White House official said Trump is focused on reaching a peace deal to end the more than three-year war sparked by Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine, and wants Zelenskyy “committed” to that goal. The official added that the U.S. was “pausing and reviewing” its aid to “ensure that it is contributing to a solution.” The official spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the assistance.

How bad is this? Not good at politics and there is so much drama these days... Difficult pull apart all info.

To be this sounds like extremely bad, like one of the worst news in months in terms of Ukraine.
I work directly helping Ukranian (and other) refugees in my country. So would be good to know how bad this actually is. One in my list is so scared of WW3, Russia invading Europe...

Edit: I mean, this sounds like a slow start of WW3. European countries prioritizing military and self defense. Like preparing to be able to try to fight against Russians. I don't understand if this is happening anyway, or if they knew USA will not help anymore, and possibly going out of NATO.

Trump is definitely a russian asset. And those extreme right leaders that all won elections in Europe in the last 1/2 years too imo. I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist or whatever but something very dark is coming imo.

Big shifts in politics with extreme right rising everywhere and taking control of so many countries, arrival of 5th step of AI in 2025 making hundreds of millions of people lose their job, global warming soon irreversible, overpopulation... idk, the timing of everything seems suspicious.

We’ve known since 2015 the guy is a Russian plant, as are others now at the very top of our government.   This is Russia’s revenge for what happened to the Soviet Union in 1991.  They’ve been working on this for a long long time.  IMO, the USA will look very very different in the not too distant future.

The Russians can't even fight Ukrainians to the point where they needed North Korea to step in. That's how weak Russia is. Putin is only as strong as the USA continues to have a Russia asset in the Oval office.

We all knew the little Oval Office pantomime was a preplanned stunt to "justify" this. 

It was made clear to Europe in 2016 that America wasn't a worthwhile ally that it could rely on. The european leadership failed to respond and we now pay the price.

Very much this. I am so pissed off at everyone, even europeans who were more pro Trump that lead to this to happen. Like so much effed up **** that's going on because they were afraid of a woman of colour being president.

sad thing is, most of people in my country (Slovakia) is so brainwashed by Russian propaganda that they still support every Trumps decision, even if it means there will be Russian army at our bordes with Ukraine, or that US will give us 25% tarrifs which means thousands of people in SLovakia will lose jobs.

Luckily it's not that bad in Poland, a lot of people are anti-russian, and were long before the war started. The only thing that is good in my opinion is that Trump is making stupid decisions very fast, and those decisions are way to stupid even for some republicans.

At what point will the justice system in America deal with Trump?

He is actively aiming genocide, he wants to occupy a foreign land, he has threatened and alienated vital allies, he has propped up insurrectionists, he has allowed an unelected billionaire to tear government apart, he is a sex offender, he is a well known racist & fraudster.. and now he's putting the lives of most of the western world in grave danger. Wtf power does he have over everyone where they allow it??

Also, have a huge theory on this whole Gaxa thing. I hope someone can correct me because I'm not even in America and this slots together like scooby doo. A long deceased detective could unravel this.

2020 -

Trump loses election despite his best effort to rig it with fake electors, and later to overthrow it via an armed mob of insurrectionists taking a break from trailer park life. Why was he so upset when he knew he could run again AND why was he so adamant the election was rigged? I'd guess because the only way around his fraud was by cheating. He just couldn't work out how. 

This meant he couldn't offer anyone anything until back in power. Devastating.

2021 -

He found a solution! Before leaving office, he took hundreds of classified documents which would mean he has secrets to exchange for money, favours, smear campaigns & even election interference. The US top secret file containing Iran war plans and military strategy if attacked went MISSING. To this day not recovered.

But why Iran? What could they offer? Oil? No. Terrorists. 

You see, while Trump was in office, he would have been well informed about the ongoing delicate situation in Gaza and how TERRIBLE it would be for the president to have instability due to potential to alienate Jewish, Muslim, and generally anyone who wanted peace. But he loathes Muslims. They are collateral. 

I believe he made this plan after November 2020. Create instability for Biden, exchange war docs for a Hamas attack (they are known to be involved with iran) Palestine gets wiped out, Trump is back in office. This is all aided by Russia in exchange for US withdrawal from NATO aid of Ukraine. Also the promise to negotiate a "ceasefire" which allows Russia to obtain Ukrainian territory. The outcome? Trump gets to, with Billionaire backing of Musk, Zuck & Bezos, create a replica of Dubai blended with Vegas. It's the art of the deal, so to speak.
