US refuses to blame Russia for Ukraine invasion in UN vote

UNITED NATIONS (AP) — In a dramatic shift in transatlantic relations under President Donald Trump, the United States split with its European allies by refusing to blame Russia for its invasion of Ukraine in votes on three U.N. resolutions Monday seeking an end to the three-year war.

In the U.N. General Assembly, the U.S. joined Russia in voting against a Europe-backed Ukrainian resolution that calls out Moscow’s aggression and demands an immediate withdrawal of Russian troops.

The U.S. then abstained from voting on its own competing resolution after Europeans, led by France, succeeded in amending it to make clear Russia was the aggressor. The voting was taking place as Trump was hosting French President Emmanuel Macron in Washington.

It was a major setback for the Trump administration in the 193-member world body, whose resolutions are not legally binding but are seen as a barometer of world opinion.

Like i know its an extremely horrible thing to wish on anyone and normally i never would. But I think theres limits to how much cruelty, propaganda and hatred one can promote before its just crystal clear that its for the greater good of all humanity that their heart just stop beating

I think the world would be much better without many of these politicians. The amount of financial, physical, emotional and mental suffering (and death) they are causing to their own people by lying, stealing money, by insane legislations is wicked. Its not just the US. i dont know whats going on with the world, i barely see any okay governments who are not megalomaniacs and evil.

I think we should revise that title with: "Trump, Musk refuses to blame Russia..." instead of the US, although there are people in a cult who believed that Russia taking back Ukraine is a holiest thing to do.

They have forgotten than on 24 August 1991, Ukraine declared itself as an independent nation. Musk, Trump, and Putin seems to intentionally forget this.

It's hard to believe that the US President might actually be a Russian agent, it's hard to take that idea seriously, but much that has happened in the Trump era is hard to believe, and yet it HAS happened. I've found myself asking this question a lot recently : if the Russians did succeed in installing one of their agents as US President, what would it look like ? My answer is that it would look pretty much like what we're seeing now.

We are arguably already in WW3. The Nazis are back for another go. Because of nuclear weapons, WW3 could not be like WW1 or WW2. They had to find another way, and they have, I suspect.
