I’ve always thought Poker Face and Bad Romance were very clever lyrically. Poker Face’s playful lyrics were part of what first got my attention on Gaga.   Also, I agree with those who said Speechless - a masterpiece.

Big agree with Poker Face, it took radios a really long time to realize it's... not JUST poker face. Lol

I'd say I love G.U.Y and it's lyrics, something about the way the acronym is use along the song constantly is so nice. And with the second acronym G.I.R.L! I love it, it's such a powerful song to me

FREE MY MIND, ARTPOP.

IMO...

OP showing taste.

This is what I came to comment when I saw thread title. It's her best song lyrically and her top 5 song, and one of the best songs I've ever heard.

Love it when you call me legs In the morning, buy me eggs

"Don't want your jewels, I want your drugs
Don't want your money, want your love
Don't want your jewels, I want your drugs
Want your jewels, I want your drugs
Don't want your money, want your love"

"Shopping, clubbing, nightlife, food, hanging out"

NUTELLA

2:27 her best lyric.

Made more profound by how sudden & unexpected it is, in a filthy bop like this.

When she sings it again at 3:36 with the other vocals overlapping... bliss.

Fave moment in any Lady Gaga song, ever 🥲

She will never top it.

The Edge of Glory

“Another shot before we kiss the other side
I’m on the edge of something final we call life tonight
Put on your shades, ‘cause I’ll be dancing in the flames
But it isn’t Hell if everybody knows my name tonight”

It’s essentially her making a toast and saying, from the perspective of her grandfather on his death bed, “I don’t know what’s going to happen next, I don’t know where I’m headed, but no matter where it is I know that I’ll be okay because I’ll be reunited with the people I love”

bad romance bad romance bad romance

the Hitchcock metaphor's consistency, the french 'i don't wanna be friend' is the new Chimene's 'va je ne te hais point' (go i don't hate you).... unmatched, the only one coming close is dance in the dark.

and also Venus because of the line rocket number 9 (Sun Ra).

I'll never get over comparing music with creation of the world in Sine, it's pure poetry.

If only 'Then the signal split in two, the sound created stars like me and you, before there was love, there was silence' wasn't that long I'd have that tattooed already :messga:

I'm still sad that it wasn't pushed as much and she didn't sing it at the Chromatica Ball. It's such an interesting song sound-wise, I think it perfectly captures Chromatica's feel and then the lyrics are so evocative.

Other than that Princess Die is amazing but I also love Abracadabra, Highway Unicorn, ARTPOP, Happy Mistake, Aura and Alejandro even if it was written in like 10 minutes :huntyga:

LadyGagasGodSon

“I can be your girl, but will you love me if I ruled the world?”

”Starry night come inside me like never before
Don't forget me when I come crying to Heaven's door
I will fly in a challenger across the sky
Like a phoenix so you can remind them of the dream I bore”

These bits from HML and The Queen, respectively, make me feel a sort of way every time I hear them, or even just sing them in my head  :bradley:

and ofc all of Speechless :firega:

You are small men. You are not worthy to rule the Dothraki.
