Bannon, first and foremost, is a right wing reactionary. He’s stated multiple times that he wants a Leninist style revolution to destroy the government and replace it with an authoritarian regime. He’s also stated that his support for Jews is conditional upon their support for Christian nationalism, so he’s clearly trying to use today’s political climate as an opportunity for politics extortion.

Not sure why some folks wanna give plausible deniability to someone who, not only extensively studied Nazi propaganda, but was the one who encouraged Trump to borrow Nazi rhetoric (“fake news” etc)
