FfFfFfFF 58,305
US and Russian officials agreed to explore the “economic and investment opportunities” that could arise for their countries from an end to the war in Ukraine after talks in Saudi Arabia that amounted to a tectonic shift in Washington’s approach to Moscow. The statements from the two sides came amid concerns in Kyiv and across Europe that Donald Trump could push for a peace settlement that favours Vladimir Putin. No Ukrainian or European officials were present at the meeting. Ukrainian officials were not invited to the talks. During a visit to Ankara, where he held talks with Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country would not accept the results of talks on how to end the war with Russia that were held “behind Ukraine’s back”. The discussions in Riyadh mark the first high-level attempt to negotiate an end to Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine since the war’s early days, when talks collapsed over the Russian president’s demands. Despite the flurry of diplomacy, little is known about Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine or Russia’s willingness to engage, and Tuesday’s meeting offered few new clues. Both sides issued carefully worded statements when the talks concluded. Rubio said the meeting was “the first step of a long and difficult journey”, adding: “An end to the Ukraine conflict must be acceptable to all involved, including Ukraine, Europe and Russia.” Source: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/feb/18/us-russia-ukraine-talks-riyadh-saudi-arabia Russia apparently demanded recognition over Crimea and all occupied territories in Ukraine, the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Kursk as well as control over Kherson and Zaporizhia! Morphine Prince 109,711
“No Ukrainian or European officials were present at the meeting.” All you need to read. Trump will give Ukraine to Putin. Time for Europe to wake up. The US is not a trustworthy ally as long as it’s compromised by someone like Trump. This sets a precedent and Russia WILL invade your country and get away with it.
eifulien 3,044
500 bn dollars worth of minerals??? The pragmatism of the US state is beyond repulsive. I knew as soon as the USA offered help to Ukraine in 2022 it wasn't gonna be cheap to repay but I'm still disgusted that we tolerate this exploitative approach. Yet another proof the USA isn't really friends with anyone else, their solidarity lasts so long as they can earn financial benefit to keep their economy running. Now we, Europeans, and ofc the Ukranian people will foot the bill for being so gullible and believing we can remain safe and peaceful by having values not shared by the rest of the world... A sad day but hopefully it's a wake-up call.

Fun fact: I've seen on TikTok some european Trump supporters who want Trump to go to war with Europe. These people are so brainwashed that they want THEIR OWN continent & country to be invaded and destroyed in favor of the president of another country
PartySick 172,975
What does Ukraine get out of this other than Russia pinky swearing to not attack them anymore It just looks like they're losing territory, losing a sh*t ton of resources, having part of their border/nation policed by foreign powers, and having their diplomatic future determined by Russia and the US. Whimsical bitch
27monster27 15,916
This won't work. Zelensky is beyond set on having at least the 2022 borders back, and Putin will under no circumstances settle for only partially taken Oblasts... unless he wants to use this as a springboard to regroup and launch another attack. With Trump this is likely. he/him/his
