Which Is why we can't compare now tò 2010. It was too much. But even her performance era baked on vocals and show off talent... She didnt do tiny desk. It would have been Major of Someone like Gaga would come there some years ago. Why no jools Holland for a more serious format? Even bbc1 its been ages. It not the states but its super popular online. 

Honestly Bobby Is a professional but i don't think he really has the vision tò understand how tò pull off something out of the box. They kinda follow the stream and when her team and her try something new It doesn't quite work. Its not bad work its Just missing something at times to get to a really next level 

For fresher artists it brings them to the next level, but Gaga crossed that threshold long ago. 

Bobby has done a tremendous job at bringing Gaga from pop-superstar to all-encompassing artist. The long term vision from ARTPOP to now took a lot of creative thinking that transcended the viral moments they’ve changed her entire trajectory.

tiktok is the way to promote now, and SNL is the biggest thing exposure wise to preform on TV at this point. A late night performance/appearance would have been nice but basically pointless chart wise.

Abracadabra is viral on tiktok/everywhere online, that's how you have a hit today, look at chappell roan, sabrina carpenter, Charli xcx or even bloody mary becoming a single over a decade later because it went viral lol 

 Gaga hasn't truely been this popular to this degree in years, and you still manage to find a way to complain instead of savoring a great moment in her career.

(Also putting so much extreme importance on chart numbers is silly but whatever.)

The proper pipeline is: perform on TV and then post it everywhere online. She and her team did this flawlessly with Happy Mistake - so weird they didn’t for Disease and Abracadabra.

Also let’s not fill in blanks - I am savouring it without pretending every move of this era is perfect. 

It’s not whatever if yall are taking the time to reply paragraphs to it and you know it bc if ARTPOP wasn’t such a bullied time for her, we’d actually would have gotten act II and not jazz or Joanne.

Being either completely charts or arts is nonsensical

the bar is really low for us. The last few Gaga album cycles have been nothing compared to her first 3. We’ve seen her do 10x the amount of promo she’s done in the last 3 album cycles. And other artists , well into their careers, still have had amazing album cycles with tons of promo and success.

with Gaga, the last few album cycles have not had big promo campaigns, meanwhile so many other artists are having big promo campaigns.

With Gaga, we’ve seem to accept that we will not get promo - and any promo we DO get, we are grateful for and excited about

but for many other artist, they’re doing/getting 2 or 3x the amount of promo Gaga does

 

i understand if Gaga herself no long is interested in doing promo.. but to imply that Bobby went above and beyond by getting her to do SNL, it’s a reach imo.  She did it for ARTPOP, was a musical guest for Joanne, chromatica was a complete non event , so we’re finally back to normal it feels . But yeah, weve seen Gaga do soooooo much more promo in the past.  The bar is extremely low these days ….last decade actually 

Joanne had big promo campaigns. And also, big artists on Gaga level don't promote their work like 2011 anymore. See Taylor and Beyoncé, for example. No interviews, no performances.

We've been around and accepted that the times have changed. On today's music industry where promotion is tik tok and playlisting basically, a SNL gig it's a thing to be celebrated.

I actually think a jazz album was inevitable regardless of how the ARTPOP era went, she was already dipping her foot into it during BTW
