EDIT: Just realised, that it looks like a figure with horns and wings? Or just me? I’m perplexed by the angelic shape and its relation to “mayhem.” The only thing I can think of (this is going back to my college days) is Pandemonium with a capital “P.” Pandemonium with a lowercase “p” is a synonym for “mayhem,” but the proper noun “Pandemonium” refers to the capital city of Hell, specifically in the amazing ‘Paradise Lost’ by John Milton. The Devil/Satan/Lucifer, or “The Beast” (informally), was a fallen angel who was granted lordship over Hell and all of its demons by God. Most modern depictions of Satan are a grotesque human-like creature with both horns and wings. However, earlier depictions of Satan played more into the “fallen angel” aspect, which meant Satan was a beautiful, heavenly figure. We all know that one of the tracks on ‘Mayhem’ is titled “Garden of Eden,” and in ‘Paradise Lost,’ Milton depicts Satan’s journey to the Garden of Eden, where he disguises himself as a snake and goads Adam and Eve into committing the first sin. However, before reaching the Garden of Eden, Satan literally has to travel through the Realm of Chaos (another synonym for mayhem). I am most likely over-analyzing all of this, but the shape drawn by the lyrics looks very much like a Satanic figure that is an amalgam of the chimera depicted in modern media and the Milton-esque antihero fallen angel. Interestingly enough, the wings are drawn in such a manner that they vaguely resemble a serpent, which is further reference to Satan via his actions in the Garden of Eden.
