She is definitely rethinking what to do next because oddly enough, she thought 143 was going to be huge and went all out for it thinking it was a return to form but it wasn’t at all. It was a return to cheap tacky pop and it’s crazy because she had some momentum going on early last year to fizzle with woman’s world. 
Everyone has said a return to one of the boys sound would be good for her and I agree as long as she actually does it right. Because the way she talked about 143 acting like it was going to be teenage dream/prism when it was absolutely horrible. Girl needs to find some spark with fresh producers.

U know, her career really does kind of mirror that of Paula Abdul.  Paula co-ruled the pop world for about 4-5 years, released a couple of ignored albums afterwards, then judged American Idol (but it meant a lot more then - everyone was watching).   Katy was near the top for a little longer, though.  I’ll give her that.

Do something like OOTB and do a romcom. It’s cute and more sincere for her than doing this tier-1 pop act that even her peers are long over with. Doing modest numbers with a pop rock album is more acceptable than tarnishing your image trying to be it again. She should just embrace what her career is and have fun with it. I feel like if she’s sincere enough a hit is not impossible.

Retirement honestly, if she cannot and not willing to grow and change her sounds drastically, she is as good as retired, as she doesn't have anything new to offer. 

She should already know her past 3 albums having similar sounds with the album that shot her to fame just didn't work anymore. If she is still adamant to do the same sounds again after all that, then the problem is her.

It’s gonna be hard to come back from the legendary triple strikeout she’s had. Maybe reality TV will be her thing now, completion shows, maybe a judge on X Factor after American Idol. Perhaps a cast member on the Real Housewives. Maybe she can do Celebrity Big Brother or even get her own reality show.

Instead of 143, she should’ve went back to the sound of One Of The Boys. I really loved her singer/songwriter aesthetic on songs like ‘Cup Of Coffee’, ‘Mannequin’, and Thinking of You’. I really think if she sat down and stripped back the pop star image and released a coffee shop album she’d probably garner critical acclaim. However, the Dr Luke debacle may have sealed her fate for future releases.
